[fixed/closed]Vineweft duplicate entry in Rules Engine

Postby Nexhro » 10 Sep 2014, 14:52

Describe the Bug:
When Vineweft is in its owner's graveyard, the Rules Engine card will offer both "Return Vineweft to hand" and "Flashback Vineweft". Both options do the same: return Vineweft from teh graveyard to its owner's hand.

Which card did behave improperly ?
Vineweft

Which update are you using?(date, name)Which type(Duel,Gauntlet,Sealed Deck)
CoRM15, duel

What exactly should be the correct behavior/interaction ?
One entry should suffice (flashback is technically wrong and implies it is returned to the battlefield).

Are any other cards possibly affected by this bug ?

Funny, but Death Wish for Vineweft doesn't grant you a Rules Engine (works for other cards), and if you already had a Rules Engine Vineweft still doesn't interact with it.

Well the deck used in the savegame is the M15 test deck provided by stassy. All the M15-related bugs (and not-bugs) I reported yesterday were discovered during this one long game.

The Rules Engine was in play from the start and the Vineweft was drawn, not wished or debugged. I think it was also enchanting a creature before it went to the graveyard, but I can't say for sure. What you could try in order to reproduce the bug is something like the following:

- Start a new deck using stassy's M15 test deck
- Use debug mode to put Cunning Wish into your hand
- Cast Cunning Wish fetching Enlightened Tutor
- Cast Enlightened Tutor to put Vineweft on the top of the library
- Try different ways to put Vineweft into your graveyard, e.g. Living Wish for Bazaar of Baghdad and/or simply enchant a creature and let it die
Tried the attached savegame some moments ago (now with duh mode and alphabetize disabled) and it still showed two entries in the Rules Engine when I clicked it.

Vineweft also doesn't create a RuleEngine card at game startup even without any wish card, so this is the issue.

If there is at least one card in deck with flashback or scavenge effect and issue will be visible:

Anything else might not make the ability useable (tested with Bloodfirst:

Well, then I think it is safe to say that something is wrong. :)

Fixed both issues.
----
- Current / medium term task: adjusting the code for making Misdirection and such usable
- Long term task: inserting all the good stuff I left out from the "Golden Years" mod

The Rules Engine card is on the battlefield at the start of a game when Vineweft is the only card in a deck utilizing it and the duplicate entry is gone. Works fine as of CoRM15 mini2.
