XMage on Mac

Can someone with Mac system check if the current release works on Mac?
Is the problem still the same, that the classes need too much memory on Mac system?

I've tried dev version on Mac from xmage.info: both server and client work nicely.
What I noticed: client splash screen needs to be updated. Could you please create an issue for it?

All worked out of the box?noxx wrote:I've tried dev version on Mac from xmage.info: both server and client work nicely.

Or did you adjust scripts, authority or something?
Because other Mac users tell, they can't get it to work on native Mac.
Only with Parallels under windows it's working.

I didn't change anything, just downloaded bundle, unpacked and started .sh scripts for client and server separately
.command scripts works the same
May it be so that they try to run startMage.bat in root folder? Seems we miss .sh script there.

Here describes Bog Wraith that XMage doesn't start native on his Mac.
And it sounds like he used the correct script.
viewtopic.php?f=70&t=14667&start=15#p154420
So I'm wondering what are the differences between his and your try to start XMage?
I guess the old problem of Mac system not able to handle the amount of classes of XMage is solved?
Was it maybe solved by new Java version for Mac or did we change something on XMage project?
At least I don't remember that XMage was changed for that reason.
So can the issue 250 be closed now?
I added an issue about the splash screen:
https://github.com/magefree/mage/issues/445
As already said in other thread I would appreciate if you can create the XMage logo a little bit brighter.

As I stated in the thread that LevelX links to, it is a permission problem that I run into that prevents the app from opening. I have the latest version of Mavericks and Java running so I'm not sure why I have this problem. I run other Java dependent apps without any issues like this, so I'm at a loss for this issue here.

Matt posted concerning this issue on GoolgGroups:
But at least looks like XMage works native on his MAC system.
But it seems to me, the error message he got is different to the message other users got starting XMage. Not sure if this is still an issue guys, but I too had some issue's firing up the release. Was complaining about some h2 database connection issue's and that my host wasn't known so found this as the workaround: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic ... uIlTLN5KOo. Seems to be an issue with Java 7 on the Mac. Client and server are now started after editing my hosts file .
