i've forgotten how funny and childish (and exceedingly long) Magic sounded in French :)

J'adore le francais! My wife and I took French so it's fun to be able to read them in two languages!

You have seen then that they translate so badly, kinda like heavy metal sung in french. It sounds unnatural. There are languages and languages and some things just sound wrong in one and right in the other. I master French much better than English (et je l'adore aussi, evidemment), but i find Magic in French horrendous. Italian too, maybe to a lesser extent. Actually I only think german would be right (albeit too many words, or too long ones), or a nordic language. Magic is anglo-saxon to the core :)
I surely hope they'll never translate it into Romanian, it would sound even worse. Romance languages are not Magic enough !

Here are some new scans of Shards of Alara Cards (still in French), with temporary English names.

Image

"Corpse Connoisseur" {4} {B}
Zombie Wizard

When ~~ this comes into play, search your library for a creature card and put it into your graveyard, then shuffle your library.
Unearth ( {3} {B} : Put this creature from your graveyard into play. It gains haste until end of turn. Remove this card from the game at end of turn. Play this ability only at time you could play a sorcery.)

"Skillful Duelist" {W} {U}
Human Rogue
First Strike, Shroud
2/1

Image

"Caldera Hellion" {3} {R} {R}
Hellion
Devour 1 (As this creature comes into play, sacrifice any number of creatures. Put a number of +1/+1 counters on that creature equal to the number of creature sacrificed this way.)
When ~~ this comes into play, it deals 3 dommages to each creature.

Sarcomite Myr was the same, so yeah, we could expect that one to be in the block.

Also, I think devour is "As this comes into play, you .."

More than just blue! Gold like Reaper King as well! Won't die to Terror, but crumbles under Naturalize and Disenchant!

Sarkhan is a planeswalker and comes into play with 4 loyalty counters.

you can use any of the 3 abiltiies by adding or removing that many counters, but you can only use the ability whenever you could play a sorcery and obv use only one ability of that planeswalker per turn.

you cannot use the last ability if there are less than 6 counters on it.

A planeswalker with 0 loyalty counters on it, leaves you and is put into the graveyard.

I confirm, I'm french but I buy and use only english cards because the translations are quite awful in general (difficult not to admit that...)
