To check sets we use md5 summer from http://www.md5summer.org/. Its output file is compatible with the output of the Linux GNU MD5Sum and it will also read Linux generated files.

To check individual files on demand you need something like http://www.download.com/HashOnClick/300 ... 49087.html.

MWSPA comes with an update.lst file which includes all the sfv hashes for those sets.

<edit> Unfortunately the spreadsheet has no entries for MWSPA, which we really need. Nyth said he would check, it's easy enough to run MWSPA over the sets he has. A list of direct downloads without that comparison doesn't help me determine which sets have been replaced.

Huggybaby, the Arena Fulls are the ones badly in need of updating since higher quality ones are available.

Generally speaking, some sets on MWSPA are completely different from their torrent and/or MediaFire counterparts whereas some sets have a few file differences. Also, some sets are just not on MWSPA at all.

So, people... Tell me what you think the next step is?

I guess we need md5sums from extreme for a few cards from each set, so that we can align the "best" sets with what the CCQHQ scanning team determined to be the best release.

Then MWSPA needs to be updated to those sets.

Then we can recreate the torrent, and release it.

Sounds like a plan?

Just have a quick look at the links I've placed at the bottom of the Excel file within CCGHQ MTG Picture Sets - Full & Crops.zip on my previous post. There's a few with alternate links and I just need verification which of those sets is the later and/or better quality ones. Once we're all sure about that, it then becomes the true set of links to share with everyone.

Separately from this, I'm comparing what is on MWSPA to these sets to see what, if anything, needs updating on there. There is a slight possibility that some of the MWSPA sets will be more up-to-date than the torrent and MediaFire files. If this is the case, then the first list can be updated accordingly.

Find attached a complete and updated comparison of MWSPA to the files available from the 10E torrent, the Lorwyn Update Torrent and the MediaFire links. In the Excel file, I have specified how one can recreate an exact copy of all the files available through MWSPA starting from the sets obtained from the torrents and MediaFire and updating with the files mentioned. Within the Excel file are 2 spreadsheets detailing which files were updated and their corresponding MD5s as well as 2 spreadsheets detailing which files were deleted when using the "Delete Orphan Pictures" function. I can provide the updated files in two separate zips (Fulls & Crops) on MediaFire if you want to duplicate the process yourself without relying on MWSPA. Fulls = 43,998 KB. Crops = 24,286 KB.

Something that I find interesting is the count given when MWSPA is working. It lists 30,504 pictures which does not match with the actual total of 30,962.

The first major thing that jumps out is that the Antiquities and Arena Fulls need fixing as wells as the Token Fulls and Crops. Future Sight Crops are also having a bit of a dilemma. The other stuff is all mostly to do with the extra sets and promos.

MWSPA is missing a few of the extra sets and should be updated to include the From The Vault: Dragons boxset, Battle Royale, and others...

Still haven't had any help on the other front regarding the problematic sets from the first list. Help anybody? We're almost done now!

Update: Nyth and I found each other on the chat known as Google.

As a result, the link to MED has been fixed.

And, Nyth has a better idea of how to proceed, that is to say, I was able to convince him that someone else could best answer his questions. So, it was perfect delegation.

It's not easy sweeping out the bugs but it is happening nonetheless.
