phpBB3 Styles Question Help
by Huggybaby » 29 Aug 2008, 23:15
Does anyone here have experience modifying phpBB3 styles?
There are some cool ones out there, like http://demo.phpbb3styles.net/subMerged?phpbb=3.0.2. (Hit Previous and Next in the top left to move through them.)
I don't have the artistic ability to alter one, but I can learn what it takes. Is there one graphically inclined person here who can answer a question or two?
Thanks

Let me reframe the topic.
Question: Wouldn't it be nicer if there were no phpBB logo on this page?
Answer: Of course it would!
That's all I'm trying to accomplish. A cool CCGHQ logo would be nice.

If you want I could try it! But I need some time because Photoshop is just a hobby and Im not the fastest....
I could try to download 2 or 3 themes, change the logo, make a rar so you just need to extract and upload all the things on your webspace...
The users then can change the style in their profile... some prefer dark, some prefer light

I like the way the submerged theme has all the info at the top and left, but I like the look of some of the WoW themes.
But before that even, I need to replace the phpBB logo here with one that says CCGHQ.
Next I want to change the baby blue color of this forum, unless Goblin Hero is really attached to it.
I think a custom theme is a lot of work, even if using a preconstructed theme as a foundation, so can you post a CCGHQ logo for us to look at? I made one but deleted it on accident, and now I'm preoccupied again.
Thanks!

The system ate my post
Another try:
To use another style you just have to change the logo... you could use the color scheme from the original...
I installed a test forum so I can change some and you can choose what you want....
Oh... and here is a first preview:
I know it has some errors... but its the beginning! And I think I prefer a white logo on this baby blue style....
Here is a style in action! What do you think??

Since that's the original Magic font, that is a capital H. See Hell's Caretaker.Huggybaby wrote:Please capitalize the H though.

Oh, darn. Yeah, I know that font.
A magic theme is cool, I think GH wanted something like that. Keep in mind though...we're a generic computer card game forum, not a magic only forum. It may look that way now, but if I had my way MTG would occupy only a small corner of this place. I'd love to have WoW cards, and Star Trek cards and so on, and fully intend to, it's just that I don't have them right now.

A magic themes? and here I was hoping we could build up some kind of Star Wars/Imperials theme. J/K! That H is freaking awesome for the logo. The only difference I would make is to order the colors in the standard WUBRG. Or even better would be the {2/W} symbols. At least, I think it would be cool.
Edit: I promise once I get a totally awesome scanner I'll send in some SW CCG (not the new WotC but the old Decipher one) images. As for a DB, I'm kind of working on trying to find a complete list of all the cards and what they do.

When this forum becomes a universal forum for many TCGs then I think we need a neutral design...
Here is a new design:
