Sonic-
Awesome stuff. The only think that irks me is the "modern" artifact frame. What would I need to do to take everything else modern, and use the classic artifact frame? Possible?

I've having flashbacks to mirrodin here!

From Korath
Yes - edit DuelArt/Duel.dat, search for the "ForceFrame=" line in the [Expansions] section (it's line 1191, a bit more than halfway down), and change it to "ForceFrame=Classic", like so:
Code: Select all
;If non-empty, all cards are drawn with the given frame type.  This is
;primarily intended for testing purposes, but can also be used if you only want
;classic frames, for example.  Valid values are the same as subsection names
;(currently Modern, Classic, Timeshift, Futureshift, Planeswalker, and Token),
;optionally with Nyx added at the start (for example, ForceFrame=NyxClassic);
;or just Nyx by itself to force the Nyx overlays to display on the
;normally-chosen frame types.
;Defaults ForceFrame=
ForceFrame=Classic
;

though which modern are you talking about. the real modern cardframe or the borderless modern card frame which borderless give the old school look but with the modern colors and obvious modern is what the cards look like nowadays

I was going by the pictures in the 1st post. I want my artifacts to look brown, not whiteish.

As long as you're using the dual.dat files and the version of Drawcardlib included in the download in the first post. One way round it would be to install the Borderless Modern set and copy the artifact background and overlay from the Classic set into its folder.

Essentially, the Borderless Modern set is just the classic card template layout with modern background textures - so you could mix and match the frames from either set.

But like I said, the above will only work with the set of files in the download in the first post.
If you're using the latest development version of the Drawcardlib, Korath's current templates and duel.dat files are completely different.

I'm still working on a set of templates for the latest version. :-"

There's no support for using different geometry for a given card type within a frame set (other than planeswalkers), so the template has to be resized to match the other Modern templates. That's not so difficult.

There's no way to change the text color for a given card type with a frame set, either (other than planeswalkers again, and in a very limited and specific way for futureshifts), nor to suppress the different borders from being overlaid if it happens to be a colored artifact; this a bigger problem.

Here's a couple not-very-much-effort attempts.

With a border, using the modern colorless bars and border and classic artifact textbox:

CardOv_Artifact.png

Without a border; you must also either set [FramesModern]CardOv_Artifact=../blank.png in DuelArt/Duel.dat or copy blank.png over Cardart/modern/CardOv_Artifact.png:

You can't. Those shown above were just mock-ups made as a joke - hence the wink.
I wasn't planning on producing a full set.
