Possible Spyware in Manalink 3.0 ?
by Ship-Su » 06 Jun 2012, 19:36
Hi all,
Just passing along something I found.
Malwarebytes found spyware in 2 folders of manalink 3.0. I downloaded the most recent version (of Cirith ungol) and the latest patches.
Might be a false positive, but you may want to check your systems.

It's a false positive, since there is an option to clean Draft files from your computer and antivirus software usually don't like that an executable mess with files.
If you really want to check for a real malware you will have to monitor his network activity with a firewall, and beside the Manalink gem for the multiplayer mode the Magic.exe should not do any internet activity.

OK good. I'm glad it was false.
Changed all my passwords anyway, it was time.
