How Do I Unlock A Locked Challenge Card For Duel Mode?


I ask because sometimes, when I build a deck, and run it in Duel Mode, I see the card with a different name. The card appears in my hand named: Number, Number-Sign, and a Number. (eg. 4 #0.) And, when I play the card from my hand, the AI tells me that I must unlock this card by completing some sort of challenge set or something (like set 3 nubmer 3). Iirc, I think I've seen Essence Sliver or Sliver Overlord or Bloodbraid Elf with this funny name. Anyways, when these cards enter the battlefield, the creature card ability is disabled. I would like to know how to enable (unlock) these cards so I can mess around with them.

but the motor of manalink have a problem they stop at the second unkeep phase
this is already fixed by the staff but we have to wait til realese the patch

Why!? If it really bothers people, maybe provide a "cheating" way to unlock them, but why would you want to remove them completely?
I find that the challenges add a lot to the game, at least when they are not in your way when you want to create and test a very specific deck that needs a locked card.

That would be nice. I'd like to actually play challenges, but game ALWAYS locks up on "... process <Rules Engine>" on my opponent's upkeep, so there's no way for me to try.

Which Challenge are you referring to and which update of the game you have?

It happens on ANY Challenge for me. Manalink 3.0 with latest update (11112012_Old_and_New_Ravnica_v2.rar).

Edit: Looks like it happens in duels too, but it's very rare and random. Win7 x64 Ultimate + SP1 + all updates + platform update, if that matters.

Do you have an antivirus? Did you set Magic.exe to process white list?

NOD32 v4 and Avast (2 different computers with identical hardware and software, except for antivirus - my son don't like Avast), same result. And forgive my paranoia, but I never add anything to "white list".

Looks like my problem was either Win 7 or 64 bit Windows version - playing challenges right now on WinXP x32 SP3 without problems.

I think it's rather a permission issue, since owner privilege system is different in 7 and xp, I don't have any issue in win7 without avast, but in another 7 computer I have to put it in avast process white list.

Is it possible to have the "Locked" cards always unlocked in Duel Mode but unlock-able in Challenge Mode?

I find that sometimes I just want to mess around with a card or deck in Duel Mode; and, when a particular card is "locked" it kinda puts the breaks on that plan.

But, I also find playing against the AI with a core set of cards and working to unlock more fun and advanced cards (aka challenge mode) is kinda fun too.

You can have that only in different files make another magic file in another path and use one for challenges and the unlocked one for other play,that's how I do it.
