Oh, right. Haven't even thought about it, bad habit of doing everything manually.Fizanko wrote:For the main world opponents, they have portraits that are usually downloaded from the content downloader

Thanks Fizanko!
Nevermind the second question, had to restart Forge in order for it to apply new set restrictions. Though now I'm puzzled with the draft generator behavior, it almost always gives me drafts consisting only from the first set of the block.

I got to share my latest quest, I’m playing a Battle of Wits deck and having a blast!
I had already started a new quest (fantasy, unrestricted, medium, but with 50 starting rares). I saw a Demonic Tutor and somehow it struck me, I had never played a Battle of Wits deck in forge! I could've started a new custom quest making sure I got a Battle of Wits in my starting pool, but I wanted to try the hard way without. Managed to win the first draft tournament, chose Odyssey for the 2nd tournament, win that one too and chose a Battle of Wits a reward.
Next target: Brainspoil. Many Brainspoils. Chose a Ravnica tournament, got crushed, no Brainspoil. I bought a Ravnica fat pack. 1 Brainspoil! And a lot of signets and other transmuters, some that can find my Demonic Tutor, which can find my Battle of Wits. Because that's how it goes in Battle of Wits-land
Deck building time! Shall i play 85 or 90 lands?
I chose to play Esper. Best control shell, and blue and black are already mandatory. I ended up with 200 “Playables” (including lands). So I had to start with 25 very crappy cards to get to the minimum of 225 cards that you need.
Now I had to win 5 matches before I could enter a new tournament. These were the most exciting matches I played in a while. A lot of variance and weak cards, but also a lot of card draw and tutors, thus having to make a lot of decisions. Somehow managed to win all 5 matches and replace the crappy cards with less crappy. Also bought another fat pack of Ravnica and a charm of vigor, emptying my pockets.
After 5 matches a Time spiral draft was offered. I hardly played that one. It is a strange format. For the 1st time I ended up with a mono-coloured deck (white) and crushed the opposition. I chose a Damnation as reward, it goes very well with 3x Dimir Housegard I got.
Here my current list:
My wishlist:
3 Battle of Wits
3 Brainspoils
4 Spellskite (defense and protects Battle of Wits)
+More signets (and other fixing),
Timmermac: wouldn’t this be a cool new quest challenge?
No rules, just play a Battle of Wits deck.
(Maybe 1 rule: no traveling to Ravnica because it is then too easy to harvest for Brainspoils and the like.)

Hey guys,
How am I supposed to build the deck "Vic Stone 4"?
Snowballing cheap hexproof creatures with cheap enchantments (daybreak coronet =___=) making it super fast and super powerful.
I can't beat it even with my constructed decks.
Could someone give me hints/tips?
Thanks!

whenever i edit the worlds.txt file or the blocks.txt file my forge freezesFizanko wrote:I looked into it, and it seems from my tinkerings you must add :(defined this way it takes the regular lands from M15 , as VMA does not come with regular lands and i have no idea what MTGO uses, you can use something other than M15 if you prefer visuals of regular lands from another set)
- Code: Select all
Vintage Masters, 3/6/M15, VMA
in the end of the file named blocks.txt located in
yourForgeDirectory\res\blockdata\
Without this, even if you added the edition file from my previous post, VMA does not appear in the draft lists

I can confirm Fizanko's method works.
Maybe you changed the file properties, or the text code, or something? Check how your text editor saves stuff by default.

Make sure to have downloaded the Vintage Masters.txt
attached to this post :
viewtopic.php?f=26&t=14184&start=315#p168473
And placed that Vintage Masters.txt into your
\ForgeMainDirectory\res\editions\
remember that when you download a new version of Forge you have to do this again (same with additional quest worlds) as files that go into the \res\ directory of forge aren't user files and so aren't kept when you download a new version of the program .

Hexproof decks can indeed be very nasty.Stampedo wrote:Hey guys,

Have you tried cards that let the opponent sacrifice his creatures?
Cruel Edict Innocent Blood Tribute to Hunger Far // Away Chainer's Edict Celestial Flare
etc.
Mass removal is often too slow, but some aren't
Engineered Explosives Powder Keg Ratchet Bomb
Or you can focus on the enchantments:
Ray of Revelation Serenity Reverent Silence Spring Cleaning Back to Nature

I checked that deck and it does not seem there's any flyer or any enchantment giving creatures flying in that deck, additionally there's no enchantment removal to get rid of yours.
So a possible easy solution can be the good old Moat that would protect you for the whole round (make sure to have 4 of them to increase your chance of it getting into your hand and if you don't have 4 of those, try have a card that would allow you to pick it from your library and put it in your hand or even better in the battlefield).
And then a lot of direct damage to the opponent with instant/sorcery cards could help to beat the deck as it does not feature any card-counters spell either.

I'm playing the quest mode now and it's a lot of fun. I will try out these Ultimate quests later on
I have a question about the selling price of my own card in Quest mode.
The price on my card says more than 1000 but when I'm selling it I only get 1000 max.
Why is that?

There is a limit to how much you can sell a card for until you reach a threshhold level of wins. That limit can be adjusted by editing quest.preferences in a text editor.

Another question, I'm running the Android version. About the Pets you can buy in the bazaar.
I bought some of them but I can't see them in game. Do I have to do more than just buying them in the bazaar?

Fizanko put together some very neat images for the icons of the creatures for the Shandalar & Zendikar Quest Mode modules: viewtopic.php?p=168746#p168746
I had not seen them until now when I was about to post the icons I got from the original Shandalar game that I wanted to replace the "?" with.
So if you want the classic icons as well, here they are.
I did notice that Fizanko has 6 more creatures listed than I have. One is Arzakon which I didn't include as I did not see any deck with his name. I chose the number of creatures to make icons for based from the decks listed in the Shandalar duels folder from within the Quest/World folder. Some of the creatures have multiple decks but I included only one icon for each character.
Go to Fizanko's post linked above for all the info as to where to place these icon files.

Hello Bog Wraith,
Arzakon and a few others icons i had put together are icons for the challenges deck of the Shandalar world.
For Azarkon the deck is Arzakon's home plane.dck , that has Icon=Arzakon.jpg in
