Forge doesnt start on Ubuntu 13.10 with java 7 installed
by fleetwood1970 » 19 Mar 2014, 05:59
hello:
I just downloaded forge 1.5.14 from the website and i have ubuntu 13.10 intalled with java 7 like you said. I double clicked the forge.sh file and nothing happens. Tried doing the same with the jar file and nothing. Both files are allowed to execute as programs and OpenJDK Java 7 Runtime is installed from Ubuntu Software Center like usual. Please I would love to play Magic using this program, need it to be able to migrate completly to linux (im having problems making duel of the planeswalkers work on ubuntu). If there is somebody that can help me, im going to apreciate it so so much. Thanks in advance Lorena from Argentina

Hi, I'm Running Ubuntu 12.04 and I am having this same problem. I tried using the command file instead and it still does nothing. I've tried running java -jar <file> this is the output.
Unfortunately the output I pasted here was too spammy for a new user
This is the last line of the output, maybe this will work?
Could not find the main class: forge.view.Main. Program will exit.
Sorry for piggybacking this thread but I am unsure if this warrants starting a new one.
