Outstanding work Dan. Planar Conquest is amazing and can't wait to try quest tournaments!

That's odd. Could you send me a screenshot of what it looks like when it freezes? I don't see how the missing resource bundle exception in the stack trace would be causing it to freeze.Pande wrote:I installed on an Nexus 5x Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow). Turned on the "Install from unknown sources" settings. Updated to version 1.5.54.001. And then when I start it, it just freezes when looking for new updates at the splash screen.
What am I doing wrong? I was very excited to try this out.
Edit. For what is worth I found the forge.log. I don't think it helps...

I can confirm that there is a certain difficulty in getting Forge to work on Android 6.0(.1?). I installed Forge (from cardforge.org, the latest build) on my Android 6.0.1 phone (Samsung Galaxy J5) and it did not work out of the box, hanging on a black screen and showing nothing at all. Analyzing the log file indicated that it could not load the default skin and ended up crashing with an exception due to that (and indeed, the default skin folder was empty). The only thing that helped me was downloading the assets file and manually unpacking it into place (the "res" folder, in particular), after which Forge began to work flawlessly. I'm not sure why this is happening, I didn't notice it on any of the other Android-based devices that I had which had an earlier version of Android on them (both 4.x and 5.0).

I will try to check what Agetian reports about the res folder

Can someone run an Android release, please? Itching to play with the new set...

I pushed the 1.5.55.001 release to the server, it should now be available as an update. It should include all the 1.5.54 beta fixes and improvements as well as some post-1.5.54 work (mostly fixes and a couple new cards).
IMPORTANT: This version contains unfinished work on quest draft tournament support. You will NOT be able to proceed past the drafting phase of a tournament yet, so stay tuned for further updates from Dan. For now, consider this feature a work-in-progress.

Can someone explain to me what you're supposed to do in Planar Conquest? Like what's the end goal? I got every card available from shards and beat every "room" in each of the planes.

At the moment, that's all there is. That said, there are plans to add more planes and maybe some other end game content like drafts, bounties, etc.weirdingway wrote:Can someone explain to me what you're supposed to do in Planar Conquest? In the meantime, you can always start a new conquest on a different plane with a different starting commander.
Also, just out of curiosity, how long did it take you to beat everything?

You can also try and get more cards from chaos spins, although they're rare. I managed to get a Homelands one. Three whole packs of Homelands goodness, oh my. If I wanted to make a Grandma Sengir EDH deck, now I can.
Suggestion: If possible, it'd be neat to add Commander battles to the existing Quest mode somehow and not just Planar Conquest, although I'm not sure how it would work (I guess you'd need to design a separate Commander deck.)
Even weirder suggestion: An options menu switch that lets you use any card as your commander (that is, things like enchantments, artifacts, instants or sorceries, etc.) It'd be fun play around with, even if it isn't likely to be balanced.
EDIT: Also, another small request... would it be possible to make the music folder settable in the options menu? Currently, while you can change the music in the default music folder, it will the reverted to the default music every time you update.

About a week of casually opening the app and knocking out 5-6 rooms and maybe 1 chaos spin.drdev wrote:At the moment, that's all there is. I don't honestly need any more content, just some feeling of completion (like hey congrats you defeated all the planes or something) and then just play again through with a new deck. Wasn't sure if I missed something haha
Also is it possible to do something about the color of the planeswalker symbols? A lot of the rooms have art that literally blends with the symbol so it can be very hard to see when you open the app if you beat the room or not. Sure there are other potential ways like other rooms near it being lit up assuming there isn't another adjacent room also beaten but it would just be nice to have a white outline around the symbol when it's on the plane board.
Thank you for all your awesome efforts on this!!!!

I installed the new release and it works just wonderfull. Must have been something related with resources I think.Pande wrote:I installed on an Nexus 5x Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow). I'm not sure if this has been pointed out but, on my phone at least, it is not possible to make and use a custom deck in the Tiny Leaders format, I can make the deck in tiny leaders but it saves to commander.

UPDATE 08/03/16: I uploaded Forge for Android v1.5.56.001 which more or less coincides with the 1.5.55 Beta desktop release. Enjoy!
