Release Notes

- New Conspiracy and M15 cards -

We have added a branch to our SVN for the new cards that are currently being scripted. These cards are not yet available in this build of forge. Please be patient and they will soon become available.


- Random Duel Button -
If you find yourself challenging only certain opponents in quest mode, try giving this button a click. It pairs you up with a random opponent to keep you on your toes.


- Quest Draft Tournaments -
An entirely new mode has been added to quests... drafting!
Compete in tournaments to win credits and booster packs, then keep the deck and the cards you drafted to use in your regular quest duels and challenges.
Tournaments are generated every 5 regular duel wins and disappear every 15 (a tournament rotates every 5 turns).
If you get a 25 win streak or win first place in a tournament, you're awarded a token to generate a new draft right away.

- The Mac OS application version -
We can now package Forge as a Mac OS application. You can double click the Forge.app icon to launch the forge application on your Apple computer running Mac OS. This application will automatically increase the java heap space memory for you as it launches. This version does not require the forge.command file and it does not need to start the Terminal application as part of the start up process.

The Mac OS X app version apparently requires the Mavericks OS and is not compatible with earlier OS X versions. People with earlier OS X versions should use the Windows and Linux version and launch forge on their Mac by double clicking on the included "forge.command" file.

- Commander 2013 cards -
It may take a few days/weeks before these new card pictures become available for downloading via the "Download LQ Card Pictures" button. The LQ set pictures tend to take a few more weeks/months to process before they become available for downloading via the "Download LQ Set Pictures" button. Please be patient. The Forge devs are not involved in maintaining the servers that house these pictures.

- Born of the Gods cards -
It may take a few days/weeks before these new card pictures become available for downloading via the "Download LQ Card Pictures" button. There is a known issue with the timing of Leaves the Battlefield triggers and multiple permanents Leaving the Battlefield. As an example, when Blood Artist died at the same time as a lot of other creatures due to a Wrath of God, the Blood Artist should trigger for every creature but does not do so.

Several people have noticed that the cards displayed on the battlefield will fail to be displayed when the number of cards on the battlefield increases. Maximizing the human panel can help to re-display the cards.

Some time was spent turning the static ETB triggers into the proper ETB replacement effects they should be, mainly to interact correctly with each other. This work is not yet finished. As a result there is currently some inconsistencies with "Enters the battlefield with counters" (Not incredibly noticeable).

A recent contribution to the code base should fix some of the bugs that people noticed with cloning type abilities. At this time there is one remaining issue that we hope will be addressed in the near future:
Copies of cards that setup Zone Change triggers via addComesIntoPlayCommand and addLeavesPlayCommand will not function correctly.

The Forge archive includes a readme.txt file and we ask that you spend a few minutes reading this file as it contains some information that may prove useful. We do tend to update this file at times and you should quickly read this file and look for new information for each and every new release. Thank you.

The archive format used for the Forge distribution is ".tar.bz2". There are utilities for Windows, Mac OS and the various *nix's that can be used to extract/decompress these ".tar.bz2" archives. We recommend that you extract/decompress the Forge archive into a new and unused folder.

Some people use the Windows application 7zip. This utility can be found at http://www.7-zip.org/download.html. Mac users can double click on the archive and the application Archive Utility will launch and extract the archive. Mac users do not need to download a separate utility.

Thanks for the new release !

First contact with the quest mode to see that the tournament entrance was over the amount of money i had, and same bug report i did in the 2/3 previous versions : the icons in the Baazar still aren't displayed

the last version it worked was 1.5.15 that had all the Bazaar icons in their correct place
probably outdated by now so you should avoid : Innistrad world for Forge (updated 17/11/2014)

There appears to be a bug with existing quests and saving tournament decks in this version. I thought I'd gotten them all, but it looks like I missed one. I should have a fix for this in the next couple of hours. The download link will possibly be the same; I'll let you all know when I get a chance to look at it.

Edit: Make that another hour or two later. Today just keeps getting busier and busier.

The triggered ability granted by Opaline Sliver's static ability is not triggering when Slivers become the target of an opponent's Aura spell. This bug is easily reproduced by removing deck constraints and giving yourself a deck of 50% Tundra, 50% Opaline Silvers and your opponent a deck of 50% Basic Lands and 50% hostile Enchant creature Auras (e.g. Pacifism).

It looks like the script assumes that only Instant and Sorcery spells have targets ("ValidSource$ Instant.OppCtrl,Sorcery.OppCtrl") when Auras also do ("114.1b Aura spells are always targeted.")

Edit: I've figured out how to locally test changes to card scripts, and I can confirm that adding "Aura.OppCtrl" to the list of "ValidSource$" does indeed cause the triggered ability to correctly trigger when an Aura spell targets a opponent's Sliver. However, I suspected and confirmed that it also causes the ability to incorrectly trigger when targeted by an activated ability of an Aura permanent an opponent controls (because at that point the Aura is not a spell). So, I tried replacing the "ValidSource$" section with "ValidSource$ Spell.OppCtrl". This appears to have correctly fixed the bug, as tested with Tundra, Opaline Sliver, and Detainment Spell. (Though I don't yet know how to propagate this fix into the source.)

Dream Chisel still is not correctly reducing the morph casting cost of Zoetic Cavern (as noted here and here). Predictably, Whetwheel is also affected by this bug.

As a possible fix, I thought removing "ValidCard$ Creature" might work, but it still only reduces the cost of morph creature spells if the original card is also a creature card, so I suspect the problem lies within the Java code for MorphDown. If I can figure out how to download the Java source code, I'll try to confirm that.

Something strange while playing a duel with the AI, we're in the early game, at some point during my turn i picked Tomb Hex , it went into my hand.

And i noticed it had odd symbol on it and the card was surrounded by a violetpink line :

I looked in the log and nothing has targeted it, so as i didn't do anything to that card myself, could be a bug

a couple of turn later, i played it to get rid of an enemy creature, and it played normally.

Urborg should have only two activated abilities, not three. If you want to remove first strike or swampwalk, you decide on resolution which ability will be removed.

Description: Sacrificed an Eldrazi Spawn token created with Awakening Zone for {1} mana to cast Archangel of Thune. Angel is shown on the stack when the error pops up.
The game continues like normal.

question : how can you make Suffer the Past working , i don't see it listed in the "Remaining Cards" list but when i play it does not do anything other than 0 damage despite the enemy AI has its graveyard with several cards.

- I play the card making sure the enemy has cards in his graveyard
- as asked i select the enemy player
- it leads me to the Prompt panel mentionning i need to pay 1 mana, if i click OK or if i tap manually -more- than 1 land i'm lead to the Resolve prompt in which i need to press OK

... And 0 damage is done and so i gain 0 life

Is it a bugged card, is there a way to play that card, or is it one that is not yet coded ?

This card has been scripted for several years, probably some recent change is causing the issue. It sounds like it's not enabling you to actually target cards in the graveyard after you target the player.
