Unable to play cards as second player in hotseat

I am not sure if I am missing something obvious, but I have been unable to play cards at all whenever I setup a human vs human match. Everything works for the first player, but once the second players turn starts, I am unable to play lands or cast spells from their hand at all.

I did some searching and was unable to find a post that addressed this. The closest I found was this http://www.slightlymagic.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=15029, but there was no reply that solved the problem.

This is using version 1.5.41-r-1.

Multiplayer is still a work in progress and not yet finished as a feature, it went through a refactoring if i remember well, so it may take time for it to be considered fully playable.
