Activate tap abilities of blockers before damage step?

Postby JakeUp » 08 Aug 2015, 00:48

The title is basically my question.
I've tried highlighting the first strike and normal damage steps to prevent the turn from progressing past the declare blockers step. My creatures die (or get damaged) as soon as I declare blockers, everything resolves to the damage step and my creatures aren't able to activate tap abilities until the second main phase.
More frustrating is the fact that the AI opponents are able to tap a blocker after declaring it.
I'm not clicking "end turn" either.

Does anyone know a solution to this issue? I appreciate any help.

If you post a screenshot, it might help. But it sounds like you don't have your phases stopping properly.

You want to make sure that your combat and damages phases are green, not red.
