Well, that's not quite true. It is Black, and can be targeted, but it has Indestructible.ivn87 wrote:Very good work, thank you for this great work.
BUG report: I think ORMENDAHL is a black creature, but in the battlefield it is colorless instead. It is impossibile to destroy it with Ultimate Price.

I've tried it with Wine but just can't get it to work. Not savvy enough I'm afraid.friarsol wrote:You do realize you can still use the new Forge versions, there just isn't a Mac "app" for easy launching?noratora wrote:As a Mac user, coming here is turning into a biweekly bout of masochism. Impossible to target or impossible to destroy? It should be possible to target it (as it's monocolored), but NOT to destroy (as it has indestructible).ivn87 wrote:Very good work, thank you for this great work.

You shouldn't need to use Wine. If you have Java installed (I've seen people mention you may need the Java 7 JDK, so I'd recommend starting there) you can run the app. Once that's installed, and you have the Forge package extracted [You may need to extract it twice, so once to unzip, and once to untar. Once it's extracted in the folder you want it should look like this (except more Apple-y)]noratora wrote:I've tried it with Wine but just can't get it to work. Not savvy enough I'm afraid.

I believe you should be able to just double click on the forge.command file to Launch Forge.
PS If there are any Mac users who are up to date on Betas, please chime in to help this poor lost Forge user. There's only so much someone allergic to iThings such as myself can do to help.

The card, "Harness the Storm" doesn't work properly. When it's on the field and whenever you cast an instant or sorcery it allows you to copy any instant or sorcery from your graveyard, not just a spell with the same name as long as you can pay the mana cost.

There was one link trying to link the card Harness the Storm.. too spamy... yup.
- I tested this with a list of eight cards (with explanation) | Open
- 2x Black Lotus
1x Lightning Bolt
1x Final Fortune
1x Show and Tell
1x Harness the Storm
1x Leyline of Anticipation
1x Omniscience
You start the game and draw your initial hand. It really doesn't matter what cards they are. The Leyline is just in there so you don't lose before you take your first turn. Anyways, you play both Lotuses, sac one Lotus to play Show and Tell, pick Omniscience to put into play, cast Harness the Storm without paying it's mana cost, then cast Final Fortune or Lightning Bolt without paying it's mana cost. Here you will get a prompt if you want to cast Show and Tell triggering from Harness the Storm. You can already see that it's not working properly since you could, technically, cast Show and Tell but you wouldn't have any cards to play with it. But follow through with it and it will allow you to sac the last Lotus to cast Show and Tell after casting either Final Fortune or Lightning Bolt.
Ps.

Unfortunately, the Forge Dev team has no control over the slightly magic forums. Users that haven't posted 5 times are restricted access to certain features to alleviate the numerous spam bots that come along on the forums. This is a bit inconvenient for attempting to post bug reports early on, as the java error codes gets picked up as a url-like. Once you get to 5, you should be able to post without restriction which will make bug reporting easier.

I keep experiencing slowdowns, including 1-2 second pauses, when Forge works its way up to over 1GB memory usage, even when there's not much going on in the game. Restarting Forge seems to be the only thing that helps. I moved Forge to my solid state disk. That slightly improved loading times but did not address the in-game pauses.

There are a couple of factors involved here. One is that Java is designed to work with only a specified portion of your system memory. I believe that by default it's set at roughly 1 gigabyte of memory. There is a command that you can use to increase that limit. The other issue is that, for some reason, the garbage collection that java uses to release memory either isn't being done or is ineffective. This has been an ongoing issue for several years now.

That totally worked! Thanks!timmermac wrote:Java is designed to work with only a specified portion of your system memory. I believe that by default it's set at roughly 1 gigabyte of memory. There is a command that you can use to increase that limit.
In case anyone else needs it, I followed these simple steps.
EDIT: I may have spoken too soon. At 1.2GB usage, things still slow down.

Forge's settings may override the method you used. You may want to edit the actual Java executable for Forge in order for the setting to work as expected. Or perhaps one of the devs can reprogram it to give a maximum heap value of two or three gigs.

I just managed to Fireball thin air. I thought I clicked on my opponent's face but apparently it's possible to skip the first target entirely.
