forge mobile card pics
by lonely-unicorn » 29 Mar 2022, 00:14
Hi
I want to use my own card pics in forge mobile (instead of the LQ images).
I have them on sd card. They have correct file names and also work in Forge.
Is it possible in forge mobile to select a folder that will be used to read the card images?

If you have android 8, 9 or 10 without scope storage enforcement, you can select the folder on which forge reads the cards images. On android 11 and above, you cannot use that options because of scope storage enforcement.lonely-unicorn wrote:Hi

Hi
- I have Android 11 but what do you mean by "scope storage enforcement"?
I gave Forge mobile access to the file system when Android asked for this
- Where are the LQ card pics downloaded (what folder) when you use the downloader in Forge mobile?
Maybe I can copy them to that folder and overwrite the existing files?
I have 256 GB storage on my device, so enough for all cards.

Android 11 implemented new file access system. Not all apps were correctly updated to use it. You can use some file managers - personally I suggest Zarchive - and paste pictures in internal memory/Android/obb/forge.app/cache/pics/. As I said many apps, especially those not updated anymore, doesn't work properly on Android 11 and can't operate in apps' data folders or external sd.
When you get into that folder you're good, just paste cards in pics/cards and tokens in pics/tokens.

Thanks a lot for suggesting this great app!
I found the folder and it's working!
However I have a question about the folders.
If i click 'cards' folder zarchiver goes to cache/pics but if i click 'tokens' folder it goes to cache/pics too.
I think that's weird because it are 2 different folders.

I hope the developers of Forge can make the SD card work on Android 11 or later too!
