the AI had 7 poison counters and I controlled a Toxic Nim with Flayer Husk and Copper Carapace. I cast a timewalk - I still have a swamp untapped.
The AI has Faerie Swarm and Nightshade Schemers in the battlefield and chooses to use both to block the Toxic Nim which I regenerated. Since I played Timewalk, I gained another round, and the AI wasn't able to block my Toxic Nim.
It looks like he wouldn't consider its regeneration ability...

This should probably go in the Card AI Improvements topic.storms wrote: Ajani, Caller of the Pride doesent use his ultimate

The AI attacked with his Sunspear Shikari that was equipped by a Mask of Avacyn although I had Souls of the Faultless on the field. So in the end nothing happens to the opponent whereas I gain life.
Edit: Two turns later the same happened again, but I wasn't able to block with Souls of the Faultless any more...there weren't any active effects such as detain or unblockable or protection or anything else... very strange!

There was a bug with blockers not being cleared properly that has been fixed (just not in time for the version you are using). If you right click on your previous blocker it should clear it from the list and allow you to block again.Symphonic wrote:Edit: Two turns later the same happened again, but I wasn't able to block with Souls of the Faultless any more...there weren't any active effects such as detain or unblockable or protection or anything else... very strange!

AI attacked with Ranger of Eos and Jhessian Infiltrator when having an Akrasan Squire on the field and I had an Archon of Redemption.
So the Ranger died when being blocked- it wouldn't have if the AI would have attacked with either the unblockable creature or only with Ranger of Eos so that the exalted-ability would have triggered.

AI tends to chump-block big creatures with trample as though they wouldn't have trample - often it would be better for them to block the other creatures with lower power that don't have trample (at least if they are blocking with some 1/1 tokens).

The AI attacked with his Spiritmonger although I had an Order of the White Shield that was equipped by a Batterskull.

The Monger can regenerate and technically it could change its color to stop being black to postentially kill your pump knight.Symphonic wrote:The AI attacked with his Spiritmonger although I had an Order of the White Shield that was equipped by a Batterskull.

Yup, that's true, and it used the regeneration ability, but never the color-changing one.friarsol wrote:The Monger can regenerate and technically it could change its color to stop being black to postentially kill your pump knight.

The AI doesn't seem to figure out how to block to prevent losing from poison counters. For example, if the AI has 9 poison counters and I attack with 1 infect creature and 1 larger non-infect creature, it will choose to block the non-infect creature.

Computer has Grimclaw Bats and Phantom Monster in play. I attack with a 1/1 creature because i want it to die so it triggers an effect. Computer decides to block it with Grimclaw Bats and pay 1 life to give it +1/+1 instead of blocking with Phantom monster

The AI will let the assassin tokens from Vraska the Unseen go through unblocked.jwallstone wrote:The AI doesn't seem to figure out how to block to prevent losing from poison counters. The AI is very unwilling to trade their 2/2's off. At one point I had a Dark Confidant and it had a Grizzly Bears and it still didn't trade, even though I had loads of life.

The AI will block Phyrexian Obliterator with blatant disregard for the consequences. Especially if it can kill it.
