A new bug reporting system based on Mantis is being developed. When Forge crashes a new report form will appear that will allow you to send in a detailed bug report.

We would like to remove the old "Current Known Bugs" list topic on the forum. While this topic has been useful over the last two years it may be time to try another approach.

In the future bugs and other issues will be reported with the Bug Report form, the Mantis based Cardforge Issue Tracker or by posting a message on the then current forge beta release topic at CCGH.

Some people that are using an early version of java 7 under the Windows OS have reported errors that state "Split must have > 2 children". Anyone having this sort of problem should de-install java 7 and install java 6 instead.


We have changed the archiving format to ".tar.bz2". There are utilities for Windows, Mac OS and the various *nix's that can be used to decompress these archives.


The Mac OS application version:

We have packaged the Forge 08-19-2011 BETA version as a Mac OS application. You can double click the Forge.app icon to launch the forge application on your Apple computer running Mac OS. This application will automatically increase the java heap space memory for you as it launches. This version does not require the forge.command file and it does not need to start the Terminal application as part of the start up process.

You can move a copy of your pictures and decks over to the Forge.app application. Right click or control click on the Forge.app icon. Select Show Package Contents form the contextual menu. A Finder window will open and will display a folder named Contents. Navigate to the folder:

/Contents/Resources/Java/res/

Your decks can be placed in the decks folder, your pics can be placed in the pics folder, etc.

Love the new version! The starting proportions of the game screen were kinda weird - had to bring in the card description from off-screen - but the game's working nicely and glitch-free, at least as far as I've gotten. Love the addition of Mimic Vat, as well as Open the Vaults (never thought I'd see that fixed... it couldn't have been easy). Great job as usual, guys.

This was emailed to me:

A simple work-around is to overwrite the file with the unchanged version from the archive (even while the program is working) and it'll load again fine, but it has to be done EVERY new game.

So, after trying to figure out what was causing the issue from this message's subject title in version 1.1.1, I traced the error on my computer to be res/gui/display_new_layout.xml. The problem occurs after I've already played a game and closed the window, the file gets overwritten by a lot of new code (and a straight diff wasn't particularly helpful in figuring out what was added) which then causes the error when starting a second game.

My relavent system specs:
Arch Linux 64-bit
was running sun jdk 7.3, tried downgrading and it was the same issue

the initialization code is looking for "res/images/ui/forgeSplash by moomarc.jpg" but it is not there. i added and committed it to svn. did i miss a step?

I checked the commit log for rev 9809 and did not see the jpg file in the listing. Did you forget to check this jpg in? :roll: :wink:

:oops: i thought eclipse would have listed it in the commit dialog after i added it.

i ran this just now.

It would be nice to see the deck you're using while in play. Usually I play with random decks and almost always forget which deck I'm playing / was playing. Afterwards it would be nice to go back on play the exact same deck again if the gameplay was interesting.

The build number reported in forge-1.1.2-jar-with-dependencies.jar's MANIFEST.MF file says the build ID is 9793 instead of 9812.

Bug: Stone-Seeder Hierophant Landfall fail

the Landfall ability for Stone-Seeder Hierophant does not take effect. when i play a land, the ability goes on the stack, but the Stone-Seeder Hierophant remains tapped. tested with minimal setup -- 14 Black Lotus, 13 Forest, 13 Stone-Seeder Hierophant.

edit: there is a typo in the card: Execute is misspelled as Execuet.

edit2: fix committed to 9821.

We meant to add this jpg picture file to the forge project before we released the 08-19-2011 beta. Place this picture inside of your:

/forge/res/images/ui/

folder and launch forge. Enjoy the new splash screen by Marc as forge starts.
