the subdued draw sound effect sounds much better -- I committed it. I'll put the sound effect configuration dialog on my list, but not at a high priority. I need to reorganize that list with the suggestions in the other thread, too : )

Hi,
I have several sounds to propose. They're compressed and properly named (as in the given list). The problem is that some extensions are a little weird, I hope it won't be a problem. I've found two sounds for playing a mountain, hence there are two archives in the zip: red_land and red_land2. The second one would be perfect if it weren't so short, but it's to everyone to decide.

I edited two sounds and they appear to be ready for inclusion:

The instant sound appears to distorted or something. It may just be that it is meant to sound like a wand zapping something. I found a sound on freesound that may be easier on the ears :)

Yeah it supposed to sound that way, but the sound you have found is way better :D .
Have you checked the mountains sounds yet? I'm not very convinced with them but I couldn't find anything better even though I thought this one was going to be easy.

P.S: could be added in the future more specific sounds? I mean a different sound for a sorcery of each colour for instance. If so I could look for any interesting sound I come across appart from the ones in the list.

The red land sounds are interesting. I thought that I might try to find something on freesound that would be a wee bit more recognizable though. I am not sure what sort of a search string will be needed to come up with a good list of sounds.

I do like the lose duel sound and it is better that what we have. I plan to launch the good ole Audacity app and will use it to reduce the size of the file somewhat.

Have you downloaded the version of Audacity that will run on your OS? I believe that this app is multi OS and has versions for all three OS's. 8)

I found a bubbling lava sound for the red land sound and it may be the best that we have so for, but I admit that I am running low on inspiration. :(

I like the new lose duel sound. Unfortunately, the code can not load in .mp3 files and can only load in .wav and .au sound files.

I converted the file with Audacity to .wav and the file size doubled. :(

I am not sure if we want a sound file that is over 400 KB. It might be OK but I do know that we want to be careful. What should be our upper limit on size?

Thanks for the sounds, but unfortunately if they're from a licenced game we won't be able to add them to the default sounds released with Forge. We're only using free-to-use/distribute files that users have created themselves or gotten from a free sound resource. It's also obviously acceptable if the creator of the sound has granted express permission to use the sound in Forge.

Thank you.

I ran it through Audacity and was able to get it down to 254 KB which is not too bad seeing as it was 1.2 MB to start with.

Wonderful!, it's very difficult to find smaller archives. Regarding the lose duel sound I understand that it's too long and heavy, perhaps it's a good idea to focus in sfx sounds first which are easier to add and later focus on that.
I've checked the sounds already added and the game looks much more vivid. In the future it would be nicer though to add more specific sounds depending on the creature type for instance and so on.
