Can I use Magic Album symbols on my website?
by VaevictisAsmadi » 13 Dec 2013, 23:25
Hi,
I'm planning a small (non-profit) MTG related website, and I'd like to use some of the nice SVG mana and set symbols found in Magic Album. Some credit line at the bottom on the page (the so called footer) would be fine by me.
My personal philosophy is that it doesn't matter because it's all copyright WoTC anyway, but I figured I'd ask.
PD: By the way, last versions of Firefox and Chrome are very picky and complained about the set icons (once decompressed) from Commander 2013 and Theros (IExplorer 11 didn't even render SVG files, the dumb thing). I only tested the icons for commons.
I fixed the issue by removing all the "inkscape" and "sodipodi" attributes from the XML tags (I'm not familiar with XML.) Apparently these are marks of an XML editor called "Inkscape" that should be transparent. They aren't, for the browsers mentioned, at this point.

Sure you can use them. Credit line to this forum would be nice though.VaevictisAsmadi wrote:I'm planning a small (non-profit) MTG related website, and I'd like to use some of the nice SVG mana and set symbols found in Magic Album. When you´re a goblin, you don´t have to step forward to be a hero -- everyone else just has to step back.
