Printing issue

Postby moviemadnessman » 13 Mar 2012, 04:23

I haven't been playing magic much in the past half year, and so haven't updated or tested much of MA in a while. I just updated to the newest version (according to the program), and see that printing is now a thing.

However, I cannot get this to work. When I go to "Tools>Print Setup", nothing happens. When I click Deck>Print>Proxies, a box pops up to choose cards to print. I can click Print, and nothing happens. Clicking preview flashes my desktop, then goes back to MA. And right clicking on a column and clicking any of the print options does nothing as well.

I'm on Vista 64 bit, running as administrator, but I cannot find a way to get the thing to print. Wanted to print out a decklist for easier searching among my card boxes, but for some reason, nothing I can do allows me to print or even get to a printer selection screen, though I don't see any posts relating to anyone else with this problem?

Any ideas?

Do you have printer installed and visible in windows control panel?

Yes, all installed printers show up in Control Panel>Printers. I have 2 physical printers and 1 network printer available from this computer, all working correctly.

I just tried verifying MA with the updater, and it came back as good.

Strange problem. "Print setup" is a standard function and should work. Do you have SP1 and other windows updates instaled?

Yep, SP2 and all updates as of today.

Have not encountered this problem in any other program ... but I seem to be an exception in this case, so I will hope it corrects itself down the road I suppose.

As I can't test printing ... does the right click>print on the columns allow you to print out decklists, or is that a feature that is yet to be added?

This feature will print the table as it is displayed on screen. Yes, you can call it decklist if you print deck table.

Looks like it's vista x64 related problem. Not sure if I can fix it. Upgrade to Win7 ;) It's much better.
