A Bunch of Decks

Postby apthaven » 22 Jul 2009, 14:09

60 Total Cards

24 Creatures
-------------
1x Benalish Cavalry
1x Black Knight
1x Cadaverous Knight
1x Capashen Knight
2x Kinsbaile Cavalier
1x Knight of Dawn
2x Knight of Meadowgrain
2x Knight of the White Orchid
2x Leonin Skyhunter
1x Moorish Cavalry
2x Paladin en-Vec
2x Plover Knights
2x Sigiled Paladin
1x Silver Knight
2x Stillmoon Cavalier
1x White Knight

16 Spells
----------
2x Cover of Darkness
2x Dauthi Embrace
2x Phyrexian Arena
4x Shared Triumph
2x Swords to Plowshares
2x Terror
2x Unmake

20 Land
--------
4x Arcane Sanctum
4x Godless Shrine
4x Plains
4x Scrubland
4x Swamp

You'll notice straight away that this deck is all about knights.

Get your support cards out like Cover of Darkness, Shared Triumph, and to even make this deck more faster, I added Phyrexian Arena.

Life isn't an issue as you have knights that have lifelink. First Strike and Double Strike ensure that your knights would win. Add protection from white, black and red, and you have a decent defense.

Use terror, swords to plowshares, and unmake to get rid of threats.

A pretty practical and easy to use. The AI can use this... except that you'll have to remove Cover of Darkness and Shared Triumph.

Mana isn't an issue. Most knights have casting costs of 2-4. Except the flying ones with first strike.

60 Total Cards

0 Creatures
-------------

39 Spells
----------
1x Ajani Goldmane
1x Chandra Nalaar
1x Elspeth, Knight-Errant
4x Empty the Warrens
2x Feudkiller's Verdict
2x Goblin Trenches
4x Life Burst
4x Lightning Bolt
4x Lightning Helix
4x Mob Justice
2x Mobilization
1x Mox Pearl
1x Mox Ruby
2x Oblivion Ring
4x Raise the Alarm
2x Zap

21 Land
--------
3x Jungle Shrine
4x Mountain
4x Plains
4x Plateau
4x Sacred Foundry
2x Serra's Sanctum

This deck wants lots and lots of creatures out. In most cases you can go from 10-20 tokens in a few turns.

You'll utilize red's instants and sorceries to destroy any threats to your forces as you generate tokens using Mobilization, Empty the Warrens, Feudkiller's Verdict, and Goblin Trenches. (4 Lightning bolts are "legal" now due to M10 releasing Lightning bolt as a staple red instant.)

Once you're happy with the amount of tokens, feel free to blast your opponent to smithereens using Mob Justice. With 20+ tokens, you'll win the game instantly.

You'll also have lots and lots of 1/1 tokens that are capable of bypassing your enemies defenses for the win. Should the opponent threaten you with tough creatures, feel free to trade and block using your tokens.

These are two decks utilizing Conspiracy.

Conspiracy Deck
0 Creatures
-------------

40 Spells
----------
2x Ajani Goldmane
2x Castle
2x Conspiracy
2x Cover of Darkness
2x Culling Sun
1x Debtors' Knell
1x Demonic Tutor
2x Elspeth, Knight-Errant
4x Glorious Anthem
2x Liliana Vess
4x March of Souls
2x Mobilization
1x Mox Jet
1x Mox Pearl
2x Shared Triumph
2x Swords to Plowshares
2x Terror
4x Unmake
2x Yawgmoth's Bargain

20 Land
--------
4x Arcane Sanctum
4x Godless Shrine
3x Plains
4x Scrubland
2x Serra's Sanctum
3x Swamp

This deck involves the card Conspiracy (you'll want to select Soldier type) and creating a multitude of creatures that benefit from it. You'll first want to pump out a few tokens with Mobilization and play the first few enchantments you grab such as Glorious Anthem and Shared Triumph.

Get rid of threats with Terror, Swords To Plowshares, and Unmake while you generate more and more tokens.

If your opponent also begins to swarm you or unleash hell with its creatures. Let them have a taste of March Of Souls.

This turns every creature into 1/1 tokens. But since you have Conspiracy (which should be designated as Soldier), you'll have many powerful Flying Tokens with Fear and Vigilance due to your enchantments out.

Conspiracy Deck 2
60 Total Cards

26 Creatures
-------------
1x Akroma, Angel of Wrath
2x Angel of Despair
2x Battlegrace Angel
2x Cinderbones
2x Divinity of Pride
4x Field Marshal
1x Harvest Gwyllion
2x Moonglove Winnower
2x Mourning Thrull
1x Nip Gwyllion
1x Restless Apparition
2x Sickle Ripper
4x Veteran Armorer

13 Spells
----------
2x Conspiracy
2x Cover of Darkness
1x Dauthi Embrace
1x Demonic Tutor
1x Diabolic Tutor
1x Glorious Anthem
1x Lightning Greaves
1x Loxodon Warhammer
1x Mobilization
1x Mox Jet
1x Mox Pearl

21 Land
--------
4x Arcane Sanctum
4x Godless Shrine
4x Plains
4x Scrubland
1x Serra's Sanctum
4x Swamp

Very much like the first deck using the conspiracy theme, this one uses real monsters and turns them into soldiers using Conspiracy buffing them with Soldier cards.

Soldier cards are powerful once they are plentiful in the field. Non-soldier cards utilizing the soldier cards effects become insanely powerful, so you'll want Conspiracy out fast.

You'll have creatures with first strike, fear, vigilance, combined with their natural abilities such as deathtouch, flying, lifelink, wither and persist.

Faeries
60 Total Cards

25 Creatures
-------------
2x Cloud of Faeries
1x Cloudseeder
2x Nightshade Schemers
1x Nightshade Stinger
1x Oona's Gatewarden
4x Pestermite
4x Scion of Oona
2x Sentinels of Glen Elendra
4x Sower of Temptation
2x Wasp Lancer
2x Wydwen, the Biting Gale

16 Spells
----------
4x Bitterblossom
1x Counterbalance
1x Cover of Darkness
2x Douse in Gloom
2x Exclude
1x Mox Jet
1x Mox Sapphire
1x Phyrexian Arena
1x Tendrils of Corruption
2x Terror

19 Land
--------
3x Faerie Conclave
4x Island
4x Swamp
4x Underground Sea
4x Watery Grave

This one's a standard Faerie deck using Faerie cards from the cardpool.

You've got creature control, with Sower of Temptation, shroud from Scion of Oona. Nighshade Schemers for the added damage. Bitterblossom for the speed. And everything else for a solid Faerie attack. Swing in a couple of Pestermite to bypass defenses.

Add Cover of Darkness and you're pretty much set for anything. I added Douse in Gloom as a means to negate death by Bitterblossom.

Phyrexian Arena makes this deck quicker, by the time you have at least 2 Scions out, you're in control while Bitterblossom continues to pump Faeries for you.

Faerie decks want Mistbind Clique though. It's a pretty staple card that sees a lot of action nowadays.

Exalted Theme
60 Total Cards

28 Creatures
-------------
4x Akrasan Squire
4x Deft Duelist
4x Ethercaste Knight
4x Giltspire Avenger
2x Hearthfire Hobgoblin
4x Jhessian Infiltrator
4x Knight of Meadowgrain
2x Rafiq of the Many

10 Spells
----------
2x Armageddon
2x Behemoth Sledge
2x Elspeth, Knight-Errant
2x Glorious Anthem
2x Serra's Blessing

22 Land
--------
2x Breeding Pool
2x Hallowed Fountain
4x Savannah
4x Seaside Citadel
2x Temple Garden
4x Tropical Island
4x Tundra

This one's my take on the Exalted theme. A very common theme in the decks you see here.

Most creatures here are all too familiar... Akrasan Squire, Giltspire Avenger, Rafiq of the Many etc... but this deck hurts fast as soon as you have Akrasan Squire and Knight of Meadowgrain out in the first few turns. Even cards like Deft Duelist will give your opponent headaches to deal with.

Most creatures are not expensive to play so you'll just be swinging in creatures per turn.

Two creatures you want combined with Exalted are your Jhessian Infiltrators and Knights of Meadowgrain. If you have them boosted early on, you'd pretty much win the game.

This deck is ridiculously cheap and overpowered, given the AI's inability to handle Exalted decks fast. Just get a good starting hand and you'll probably win a good number of times.

60 Total Cards

24 Creatures
-------------
2x Jeska, Warrior Adept
1x Kamahl, Pit Fighter
1x Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind
2x Prodigal Sorcerer
4x Razorfin Hunter
1x Stinging Barrier
2x Thornwind Faeries
1x Viashino Fangtail
3x Vulshok Sorcerer
2x Wall of Air
1x Wall of Razors
2x Wall of Stone
2x Wojek Embermage

16 Spells
----------
2x Chandra Nalaar
1x Concentrate
1x Counterspell
2x Exclude
2x Hidetsugu's Second Rite
2x Lightning Bolt
1x Mox Ruby
1x Mox Sapphire
2x Rod of Ruin
1x Sensei's Divining Top
1x Zap

20 Land
--------
4x Crumbling Necropolis
4x Island
4x Mountain
4x Steam Vents
4x Volcanic Island

This deck involves using the mechanic "Tap: This creature deals 1 damage to target creature or player".

You'll want your walls to defend you while you bypass the opponent's stronger creatures using the 1 damage that your creatures can deal to them without getting hit back. Or target the opponent directly each round to slowly whittle down the opponent's life to 0.

You can easily win if you get Hidetsugu's Second Rite and have your opponent's life at 10, which shouldn't be too difficult if you have monsters out.

Problems like protection from red or from blue can be bypassed by the fact that this deck uses several monocolored creatures. Shrouded creatures can be handled by your walls, while you deal with the targetable threats using your creatures.

60 Total Cards

28 Creatures
-------------
2x Angelic Wall
2x Cho-Manno, Revolutionary
2x Commander Eesha
2x Goldmeadow Dodger
2x Goldmeadow Harrier
2x Intrepid Hero
4x Marble Titan
2x Paladin en-Vec
2x Pegasus Charger
2x Soltari Crusader
2x Squall Drifter
2x Wall of Swords
2x White Knight

12 Spells
----------
2x Elspeth, Knight-Errant
4x Life Burst
2x Oblivion Ring
4x Unmake

20 Land
--------
20x Plains

This is a deck that stalls your opponents using Marble Titan, and taps your opponent's creatures using Squall Drifter and Goldmeadow Harrier. Your walls block attacks, while you get rid of threats using your oblivion ring and unmake.

Then slowly whittle down your opponents life with cards like Soltari Crusader, and your first strike creatures.

Elspeth, Knight-Errant can also build up its counters for its indestructible ability with ease due to your defensive tactics, after which your creatures will easily mow down the opposition..

More decks:

60 Total Cards

24 Creatures
-------------
4x Chameleon Colossus
4x Elvish Archdruid
4x Gilt-Leaf Archdruid
2x Kaysa
4x Priest of Titania
4x Skyshroud Troopers
2x Wellwisher

12 Spells

2x Desert Twister
2x Garruk Wildspeaker
2x Harmonize
4x Kodama's Reach
2x Needle Storm

24 Land
--------
20x Forest
4x Wirewood Lodge

This deck involves using Gilt-Leaf Archdruid's ability to control the opponent's lands to completely control the field.

You'll have plenty of druids in ths one, many of which generate mana to allow you to play more druids. Chameleon Colossus would very much benefit from the mana pool you can easily amass. Wellwisher is added to provide life support later on.

Once you have played lots of creatures in the field, activate Gilt-Leaf Archdruid, your opponent loses the ability to play more cards and that leaves you the ability to take over.

60 Total Cards

22 Creatures
-------------
4x Cold-Eyed Selkie
4x Dauthi Trapper
4x Inkfathom Infiltrator
4x Lord of Atlantis
2x Merrow Levitator
4x Rootwater Thief

16 Spells
----------
1x Annihilate
2x Cover of Darkness
1x Demonic Tutor
2x Douse in Gloom
4x Exclude
2x Liliana Vess
1x Mox Jet
1x Mox Sapphire
2x Terror

22 Land
--------
4x Arcane Sanctum
4x Crumbling Necropolis
2x Mutavault
4x Salt Marsh
4x Underground Sea
4x Watery Grave

This deck exclusively uses merfolk creatures.

Cards like Dauthi Trapper, Merrow Levitator and Cover of Darkness combined with Rootwater Thief allow you to remove cards from your opponent's deck from the game, while Cold-Eye Selkie can draw cards for you if given the adequate support.

Add Lord of Atlantis to the mix, resulting to Inkfathom Infiltrator becoming an unblocklable 6/5 creature and you have the perfect offense along with control tactics and the capability to draw cards with ease.
