UW Weenie Ally Deck

Postby apthaven » 14 Dec 2009, 05:55

Since we're all waiting for the next version (which hopefully will come in time before Christmas... which obviously would be a cool present to all of us here :D )

Here's a White and Blue Ally deck.

60 Total Cards

20 Creatures
-------------
4x Kazandu Blademaster
4x Makindi Shieldmate
4x Ondu Cleric
4x Plumeveil
4x Stonework Puma

20 Spells
----------
2x Echoing Truth
2x Elspeth, Knight-Errant
4x Exclude
2x Jace Beleren
2x Levitation
4x Shared Triumph
4x Swords to Plowshares

20 Land
--------
4x Hallowed Fountain
4x Island
6x Plains
2x Serra's Sanctum
4x Tundra

This is a simple Ally themed deck. The notable card in this one is Kazandu Blademaster which for its cost is very powerful and becomes powerful over time combined with other Ally cards. It starts as a 2/2 Vigilance, First Strike creature.

Always prioritize to have one at your starting hand.

Jace Beleren is a very good card in this one as it speeds up the deck even more with the free card per turn, which could allow you to easily cast Shared Triumph and Levitation.

Expect the Ally theme to become a more better option once Forge gains more Ally cards. So far so good for this deck. But if you don't get Kazandu Blademaster early, you're screwed.

Stonework Puma should really be Umara Raptor
He does so much more than the puma
I would also recommend cutting levitation and going to 3 on the plainswalkers.

Good suggestion. I didn't realize that Umara Raptor was in Forge until I rechecked it now. Thanks.

I thought only Seascape Aerialist was the only blue ally available so I didn't check on the blue cards much further.

Well since, you have an offensive flier with *Umara Raptor now and with Elspeth's 2nd ability to grant flying, Levitation can be easily removed and replaced for something else.

*Umara Raptor however has an improper casting cost in the latest version of Forge. It should be 2U not 1U. That would make this deck slightly better than it is.

Update:
4 Stonework Puma is now 4 Umara Raptor (Same converted mana cost but much efficient)
2 Levitation has been replaced by one Elspeth and one Jace. (as suggested)

Why is Serra's Sanctum in the deck? There are no enchantments?

Version 2 of this deck has lesser enchantments (no levitation). It would also be good to remove a Serra's Sanctum and replace it with a Mox Pearl instead.
