Mongrel Madness
60 Total Cards
20 Creatures
-------------
4x Arrogant Wurm
4x Basking Rootwalla
4x Masticore
4x Merfolk Looter
4x Wild Mongrel
18 Spells
----------
1x Ancestral Recall
2x Beastmaster Ascension
2x Careful Study
2x Deep Analysis
2x Garruk Wildspeaker
2x Jace Beleren
1x Mox Emerald
1x Mox Sapphire
1x Regrowth
4x Roar of the Wurm
22 Land
--------
4x Breeding Pool
6x Forest
2x Halimar Depths
5x Island
1x Oran-Rief, the Vastwood
4x Tropical Island
An aggro deck that utilizes the Madness mechanic with the classic green aggro card Wild Mongrel.
Wild Mongrel easily allows you to cast aggressive creatures like Basking Rootwalla and Arrogant Wurm at an earlier turn.
Since you discard a lot some cards are more beneficial on the graveyard due to their lowered cost and for that reason, you'll always want to discard Roar of the Wurm and never cast it directly using a combination of either the Wild Mongrel's ability or through the drawback of the powerful, yet cheap Masticore.
The deck's sorceries and instants allow you to control your draw, ensuring a healthy hand for your discard and madness tricks, while the enchantment Beastmaster Ascension and Garruk Wildspeaker can add the finishing touches for your creatures.

Needs Vengvine.
Mongrel, discard vengvine, rootwalla seems good for turn 2.

Good point. It fits any green aggro deck like this one. 4 copies of Vengevine looks great.Corwin72 wrote:Needs Vengvine.
