How do you figure out these decks are forgeable? Is there a quick way?

It's fairly easy to test a single deck - just copy-paste into a text-editor, delete any extraneous lines, add the formatting tags at the top and bottom, like so:

and then save the file as "The Danger Zone.dck" in the /res/decks/ folder. Try playing it with Forge. If you don't get an error, it's forgeable.

That sounds a little bit more complicated than it actually is

I've gone a bit overboard with it, however. I add the decks to a database and match them against a list of cards that are implemented in forge. I've programmed a .php page to do this, so expect massive updates of decks that are playable after every forge update.
