If there would be a red Vampire in the BR Vampire deck (or some synergistic card) I could get behind having two vampire opponents. I think both deck could be improved by replacing a few cards, which would lead to two very similar decks.Corwin72 wrote:Both decks seem solid to me.
I guess I am from the school of more is better.
My vote would be to keep them both since they feature different cards and strategy. The more decks the better. As long as you are not repeating the same deck. We have more than one White deck Knights(King Arthur) and Soldiers(Blackbeard). Who cares if two decks feature the same tribe if they play differently.
No Grand Arbiter Augustin IV? No Shard Blades?Corwin72 wrote:And now for something completely different, here is a UW deck. I think that it is underpowered for level 3.
Thoughts?

I observed, that decks you create are mostly build with 4 copies of each card, is there a reason for this Corwin?
EDIT: And your white knight have clearly the same theme as King Arthur 3.

As for the UWG deck I like to show off the multi color cards in that color wheel. A dedicated Exalted deck should focus more on the 1 and 2 CC White creatures to get the best bang for its buck.
Giltspire Avenger
Rafiq of the Many
were just interesting cards.
Finest Hour should be more Temporal Springs or something else.
Good call. I will remove Rafiq of the Many and Finest Hour.

What do you think could be added to the BR Vampire deck to keep the threat level up and keep the curve low. I thought about Blighting. That seems to go with the deck.
Thanks for your responses. They are really helpful.

Your UW deck looks powerful enough to be added as a tier 3 deck.
Concerning your GWU deck:
The card thats gets more powerful in your GWU deck than in an GW deck is Knight of New Alara, but there is not much room for more. I also love the synergy of Murkfiend Liege and Stoic Angel.
Phantom Nishoba and Trygon Predator(as a 4 off) are debatable.

Nishoba is a 1 of, I guess it could be another Treva.
The Knight of New Alara was a 1 of. I just thought it could use another lord. +3\+3 to the 2 drops is so good. I liked it better than either of the split lords.
The Predator can just disrupt so many decks that I thought that it would be a good addition.

I've added your WU deck as Odin 3 and your GWU deck (with a little shift towards Knight of New Alara) as Doc Holiday 3.
Good luck with your baby Corwin.Corwin72 wrote:I am going to be offline for a while. My wife's water just broke. Off to have a baby.

Alright here's two similar decks that are based off an old Standard deck I used to play. I've been playing theme decks versus them and they seem fairly competent. I'd think the Control version could be a level 2, and the "Aggro" version could be a level 3.
The control decks centers more on locking the board with Ensnaring Bridge, Null Brooch and Bottomless Pit. If Noetic Scales ever got written up, I'd throw one or two in as well.
Some replacements: I have noticed that the AI never seems to want to play Damnation, so that can probably be swapped for something. I haven't noticed Quicksands being used either, probably because Pump disables all sacCosts. I didn't know what our standard mono-color "helper" lands might be so I just left it there for now. Maybe just 8 black fetchlands for the 4 Quicksands and 4 Swamps.
BridgeBroochPit (Control)
The Aggro deck has a similar approach except it doesn't care about the Ensnaring Bridge lock, and just cares about undercosted creatures that depend on opposing player's hand size. That along with enough removal and extra discard, can put a lot of pressure on a player.

Nice decks Sol. My very first "real" deck also had Null Brooch and Ensnaring Bridge in it (it was RW though).
Some Comments:
- I think Executioner's Capsule would be a good removal card in these decks, since the AI can play them even without targets in sight and wouldn't lose it to Bottomless Pit or Cunning Lethemancer.
- Chainer's Edict is better here than Diabolic Edict.
- Another card to consider: Grafted Skullcap

I didn't have the original decklist, but now that I think about it I definitely used Seal of Doom. Either of those cards fits the theme well, but the Capsule might be better for the curve. We'd have to make sure the AI has no issues using these with the SacCost.Sloth wrote:Nice decks Sol. My very first "real" deck also had Null Brooch and Ensnaring Bridge in it (it was RW though).

Agree about Chainer's Edict.
Would have to playtest with Grafted Skullcap. I'd be worried the AI would play it too early and lose his hand before getting rolling.
Other newer cards definitely worth considering are Brittle Effigy, and Trigon of Corruption. And once written Torpor Orb might be a good way to protect from ETB creatures.
I have no issues with tweaking the decks as we see fit to make it less similar to other existing decks. We could splash either white or blue into the deck to help with some removal.

First I would like to thank Sol for his spell counter code edits.
OK, here is a deck that I put together on behalf of Corwin and his interest in the Mana Leak spell. This deck uses several combo cards and the AI plays it fairly well but not perfectly.
At least the AI will now use the Disruptive Student and the Disruptive Pitmage cards. But only if the human does not have enough mana to pay the extra cost it would appear.
The walls combined with Sunscape Master can be a real bitch to try and overcome. In my tests the AI will win not every game but often enough to make this deck a possible candidate. What do you think Sloth?

I'll test some code that will allow permanents like Disruptive Student to be used more aggressively (and in turn, in combination with each other).

Ah, sounds good, thank you Sol.
It might be possible to turn the Hokori, Dust Drinker and Winter Orb ability into a keyword and then test for it in the canPlayAI code for the counter spells. But the two cards are worded somewhat differently.
Having the AB$ Counter perms team up with each other sounds like a great idea.

Yup nice deck, nice synergies, thumbs up Chris. If you're willing to tinker around some more I would suggest more Winter Orbs and maybe a single Kismet, but it looks quite tuned already. Level 3 is appropriate I think.Chris H. wrote:The walls combined with Sunscape Master can be a real bitch to try and overcome.
