On the first challenge, you'll need to set a stop on your upkeep phase. The 2nd challenge and one or two of the other ones require you to win during your upkeep. If you wait longer than that, you get exactly what you are describing.

If you or anyone else reading this doesn't know how to do that, you need to right-click on your upkeep and select "mark this phase to always stop". If you later don't want that stop, do the same thing to unstop it.

I've solved the first 7, but I'm finding that my solutions to a few of the puzzles require infinite loops that take forever to pull off (many many activations). Are other people having similar experiences, or am I overlooking something easier?

One of the ones that I originally used a loop for, I found a faster but less obvious way much later. The other one I'm pretty sure that's the only way to do it. If you found more than that where you were doing 'many many activations' then yeah, there's probably an easier solution somewhere, but you only have to do that challenge once anyway.

So yea... I tried a couple days, and couldn't figure out at all how to beat challenge 9. I asked a few friends, but none of them could come up with an answer. I would like some hints, or help, or even a PM answer, because this challenge is driving me nuts.

Thank you

I'm sorry, but I'm giving up. We've had four people thinking about #9, and nothing goes through. Apparently, the way to beat those 16 damage is just out of our reaches. This is the last challenge I have to beat (I actually have the answer for #10), and I guess it'll stay like that.

I promise you there is a solution to #9. For a hint, the way I solved #9 used an Enchantment and a Sorcery.

Enchantment? How? You can only have a critter and 3 sorcs... no?

You asked about #9, which is "add any 2 cards". I used an enchantment and a sorcery to solve that one.

Did you need help with #10 instead? For a hint on #10, I would say it involves an old rule that was modified by the 6th edition rule changes.
