Found at the Archive, might be outdated.

scherbchen wrote:just in case nobody had any idea on the Gimme! challenge (yeah, right) here is the one I did it with:

18 Islands (no fast mana acceleration, we need lands)
4 Underground Sea
4 Volcanic Island

4 Annex (our mana acceleration, sometimes you get to cast Nicol this way or hose an opponent)
4 Copy Artifact (to copy an opponent's Mox or, most of the time, Vedalken Shackles)
4 Vedalken Shackles (arguably the best card in the deck)
4 Threads of Disloyalty (cheapest stealer)
3 Bribery (most notably against the soldier deck)
4 Treachery
4 Control Magic
3 Rite of Replication ( just because it is fun to get 5 Scions of Oona, also kills Legends)
2 Twincast (meh)
2 Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker (very iffy but it can give you a lucky win against burn since it has no noteworthy creatures. also, you have to play Nicol if you can :D )
aww1979 wrote:The new changes to Gimme! made it a lot easier. This deck beat it the first attempt. Previously, it had 4x Annex, 2 more Confiscate and 2x Twincast in place of Sarkhan Vol and the 4 wildcards. (AR, Time Walk, Sol Ring, Mox) I got lucky in that I didn't hit turbofog or the burn deck, though with Sarkhan Vol and Dragons I'd have at least stood a fighting chance this time.

.44 4 Control Magic
.1000 2 Confiscate
.1053 4 Rite Of Replication
.627 4 Threads of Disloyalty
.1341 4 Treachery
.126 10 Island
.258 4 Underground Sea
.266 4 Volcanic Island
.254 4 Tundra
.252 4 Tropical Island
.985 4 Bribery
.630 4 Vedalken Shackles
.625 4 Sarkhan Vol
.1 1 Ancestral Recall
.249 1 Time Walk
.230 1 Sol Ring
.169 1 Mox Sapphire

BTW, kicked Rite of Replication = win on Siege-Gang Commander, Cloudgoat Giant, and Captain of the Watch :)

Also note Vedalken Shackles; I missed that the first time I tried Gimme, because it's not technically blue, though it might as well be.

.985 4 Bribery
.1325 3 Annex
.47 3 Copy Artifact
.451 2 Ring of Ma'rûf
.1923 1 Fact or Fiction
.1 1 Ancestral Recall
.126 26 Island

Actually it was quite a fun and solid deck. Was one of my favourite challenges as well. Took 4-5 tries to complete it because of either running into Burn (an autoloss with this deck really), the comp getting a very fast start, or making a dreadful play error, like wanting to Ma'ruf for an Echoing Truth to bounce Worship against elves an swing for the win, but getting distracted and fetching a Morphling instead, then while waiting for the 2nd Ma'ruf to show up, Annexing an Savannah while on 6 life forgetting that all elves have forestwalk and getting killed the following turn :D.

The deck I went with used Jace the Mind Sculpter, the Swiss Army knife planes walker. It was fun to take all 4 of UG thresh's Lorescale Cotals and brainstorm repeatedly.

Wow. This was officially the easiest challenge I've played. Beat it in one try with this not-too-original deck. Even faced two creatureless decks, but Sarkhan Vol got there with his dragons for the win. Awesome!

I just tried this one again, and Sarkhan Vol no longer works here, though Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker, still does.

I just discovered this a about a a week ago, and with the current update (Sept 26/Innistrad)Sharkan Vol is working but apparently dual lands are not, making him kind of useless.

Dual lands are allowed. I haven't checked if Sarkhan works or is counted among the 4 extras.

I don't quite get why Legacy's Allure, Helm of Possesion or Roil Elemental don't work (no real difference with Vedalken Shackles).

Other than that I would definitely go with 4 counterspells for the 4 extra spells (or 3 counterspells and a sol ring). That gives something useful to cast with 2cc, and that can help a lot in some matchups (slivers, to counter Crystalline Sliver, particularly, and possibly to have a win method against one of the burn decks, if also playing 4 twincast.. but better just hope to luck out and not meet them).

I don't understand how I'm supposed to win against a red blast deck without creatures staying on battlefield that just keeps on casting spells to damage me directly... :x

Much too frustrating... After 5 hours trying to succeed in this challenge, I always have to fight against the red burning deck, and if not, the affinity kills me on 3rd turn, that's when I don't have 3-4 hands with a lonely land... :'(

Here's the decklist I used. As the 4 non-stealing cards, I used 3 Stoneforge Mystics and a Batterskull. Batterskull works wonders against the red creatureless decks, and can be copied with Copy Artifact for additional fun. Copy Artifact can sometimes also be used on opposing Moxen for accelleration.

.44 4 Control Magic
.7354 4 Threads of Disloyalty
.1341 4 Treachery
.6924 4 Vedalken Shackles
.266 4 Volcanic Island
.126 9 Island
.10164 4 Rite of Replication
.164 1 Mountain
.9809 4 Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker
.239 1 Swamp
.258 4 Underground Sea
.10971 1 Batterskull
.10357 3 Stoneforge Mystic
.188 1 Plains
.254 4 Tundra
.47 4 Copy Artifact
.216 4 Scrubland

The deck runs 28 land, because you need to hit all your landdrops. Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker is a 4-of here, mainly because you really need one against the Mana Flare deck, and because he is your main win condition against the Fog deck. Rite of Replication is included over other copy and steal-spells because 4 mana is really a lot less than 5 or 6. Note that the basic lands are in there to fetch when the computer uses Path to Exile on either the Pit Scorpion or the Mystics.
All in all, I struggled with the Gimme challenge a lot, but with this deck I went through on my first or second try. Hope you all have the same luck!

This challenge actually doesn't enforce the deckbuilding part (i.e., the rule that you can only use 4 non-stealing cards) in the latest patch, and possibly for a couple patches before that. What it's supposed to do, but doesn't, is copy a random permanent of yours during each of your upkeeps in the first four games, and instead steal a random permanent in the rest. It's fixed in the next patch.
