Help me get Magic 2014 1.0 working in multiplayer

Hey guys,

First of all I just wanted to say finding this message board was like a godsend! You have helped me breathe so much more life into this game, it's unbelievable. Thank you!

Now, I turn to you for help, and maybe to give back a bit as well. Perhaps if we can get some clear instructions in this thread I will edit the first post and we can turn it into a sticky tutorial thread.


I want to get Magic 2014 1.0 working over multiplayer. Why 1.0? Because the tool that resets the seeding on your sealed decks only works on 1.0. Internet would be ideal, but LAN will do just fine. I own a legit copy of it on steam, and have access to both 3DM and SKIDROW versions. I guess if someone figured out how to update the tool we wouldn't need this thread

What I've tried so far:
SKIDROW + steamloader 1.0.6. Multiplayer didn't work at all. Wouldn't even let me pick a deck when hosting.
3DM + their "MP" crack. Didn't launch at all.
3DM + their "MP" crack + steamloader 1.0.6. I could host, pick a deck, and see the game over LAN from another machine. Said machine could not join the game though (timed out).

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

open steam_appid.txt replace the id with a working id
now look for a working steam app id

I just bought the damm game and I think I keep getting banned for mod decks or something. Any thoughts?

if you want to play the multiplier online you should have a 2 directory of DOTP 1 for official use and the other one for modification use we cant use the modified one online
