Hello folks. I know there are several people within this group that are putting out amazing work. With so many fantastic cards out there for folks to play with, I wonder if its possible to set up a Card Request Thread for the n00bs and simpletons (and me, being their warchief as it were) to request cards be added to DLCs that the brilliant coders are working on.

Thoughts?

Nothing stopping anyone from asking for a card.

Could lead to some discussion to determine if some cards are actually impossible to make in this game or not.

I think I may have the perfect one. If someone wants to try to whip up a "Zur's Weirding", that'd be interesting.

Id like to see the Dreamcast Cards for no other reason than nostalgia, and to laydown that clunky old dreamcast, afterall magic is the only reason I keep that clunker running... Plus I cannot read Japanese...

Heck why not add the Astral set in there too...

Since this is my first post in this thread and it's conveniently sitting on the first page, I'm overhauling it so that it serves as a place for a collection of requests that I have filled.

I didn't organize them in a WAD, since you need to open a WAD anyway if you want to put them in a deck: it's up to you to put the cards in your custom WAD as well.

Notes:
  • I didn't include filled requests that I moved to my mod after coding them: there's no need to replicate cards (together with possible errors inside them). I also didn't include my Eldrazi, which had some errors if I remember well. You can find the Eldrazi in many mods so you should retrieve them easily if needed.
  • Patron of the Moon needs my LOL file for mana functions. You can find it inside my mod.
  • You won't find TEXT_PERMANENT XMLs for the query strings (except for Grixis Charm where I made one as example).
  • Most cards are untested, and if the requester didn't warn me about errors, they could still contain some.
  • Eladamri, Lord of Leaves needs a fix.
  • Temporal Extortion has a typo: please change isAI to IsAI (the first "i" needs to be capital).

Unless we use mana tokens, doing it with the Cloudpost trick would mean to write an ability for each possible scenario (an ability for when you control 1 artifact, another ability for when you control 2 artifacts, and so on). And I'm afraid it would crash the game if you play it without controlling artifacts because cards with mana abilities that keep them all switched off make the game crash.

That said, maybe it can be done with a bit of copy and paste... how many artifacts do you think you could control in one duel, at most?

I'm not sure how many artifacts he has had in a duel, but I've had up to 140 in play at one time before (though with a different combination of cards this could go considerably higher) so copy and paste would make the card pretty damn big. I would probably look for a different way to do it rather than using mana abilities.

I think it would be even greater if you look into the core cards before asking, because Wild Pair is in the core... :mrgreen:

you could use some trick. but as any trick, it will not be the real thing, and would create conflict with cards that would let you use abilities, other than mana abilities.

For Ancient Ziggurat a work-around would only work for the first half of the ability, we still have no way to enforce that it can only be used to cast a specific type of spell. So no it can't be made without ignoring at least half the ability, picking a different card would be a better idea with this version of the engine (DotP 2013). Maybe in a future version we will get more control over mana abilities (such as availability blocks, additional costs, or a trigger such as "considered for mana").

You could prevent from playing any card other than a creature, after you choose the colour of the mana. And return everything to normal, after playing a creature or after end of phase. (and an option to disable it if you need to play a spell or change your mind)
