Error Occuring with Mac OS X 10.8 and 10.9

hey guys, I'm new so I'm not sure if I'm in the right place, however I have downloaded everything and gone through the process and everything seemed promising, but when the XMage application goes to open, it gives me the initial XMage lettering as if it was opening up, but then terminal pops up and says process completed. Just wondering if anyone has inquired about something like this before, and if its just something small I'm missing. I'll continue to fish around with it as I'm somewhat proficient on my machine and worked at an apple store for a bit as a technician, so I can do at least a little. thanks! excited to figure it out!

to add, it seems like its not recognizing start client command as an application
