cant find port to connect to and getting error

Postby iamgaiden » 14 Apr 2015, 06:13

i cant connect to the server, it says can not find port to connect to and then it says do you want to re connect, then whatever i say, it then says java.lang.NumberFormatException: For input string: ""

this is very frustrating, i tryd diabling my firewall, creating a exception within the firewall, and still nothing.

I can't be sure of this but on the connect settings the port must be an empty string. Please check that first.

You are trying to connect to which server exactly?

1) To connect to a local server you have to start your local server first. Then use the find button and select "local server on the buttom of the list". It usually uses port 17171 if you didn't change the default settings.

2) To connect to a public server you use the "Find" button and select a server from the list, so IP/URL and ports are filled automatically.

Can you post the exact content that is written to the mage-client.log as you try to connect to a server?

I also cannot connect to Xmage any longer.

I've tried connecting to:
Server: (The woogerworks one)
Port: 17171
User Name: Bradifer

This error eventually pops up after it fails to connect and offers me the reconnect/disconnect option

The forums will not let me upload my screenshot of the error, because it's from another website.
I'll see if it lets me upload/attach the file.

I've also tried changing the server to other options, no success yet.
I unchecked the "Automatically connect" box. Otherwise, xmage is essentially frozen for the first hour when I launch it.

Awesome program, hope you find out the problem!

First you should check, if you can connect to other servers (e.g. xmage.de) and the problem is really on your side.

The last days woogerworks server has some problems and the server did not work for hours (also tonight).
Hope with the next update this will be addressed mostly.
