If you have encountered any problems while using XMage 1.4.2 you can post them here.
Please mention who you were playing against: Human or the AI type.
Please describe how you got to that point. A screenshot of the battlefield at the moment something went wrong will be useful too. Otherwise, naming the cards that interacted will suffice. If you get an error log please add that too. Also often does a gamelog file from the mage-client/gamelogs/ folder help to reproduce the problem.



  1. Please use a separate post for each problem/bug.
  2. Don't report here problems concerning to install, start or connect xmage. Only game related problems of using xmage.
  3. Don't report here cards you would like to see implemented. You can report it in this two threads:

Already fixed but not available until the next XMage update
* Fixed a bug that prevented that cards from Classic Six Edition were shown in mage.
* Fixed a bug of auras leaving and returning to battlefield multiple times not be able to target new targets.
* Fixed that canceled multikicker activations were not reset on recast.
* Made table filter more accurate and moved Historical and Super Standard format to Other filter.
* Fixed handling of face down card selection (e.g. for Scroll Rack).
* Fixed sluggishness of player selection. Reworked flag display in avatar image.
* AnnihilatorAbility - Fixed that the sacrifice effect was handled targeted.
* Kicker - Fixed that {X} Kicker costs which also included fixed kicker mana costs where added to the spells costs correctly (e.g. Kangee, Aerie Keeper).


* Athreos, God of Passage - Fixed that cards returned to hand with the triggered ability werer alaso schown wrongly in graveyard after the effect resolved.
* Collapsing Borders - Fixed that the domain value was calculated from controller instead of active player.
* Duergar Hedge-Mage - Fixed that the triggered abilities were not optional.
* Lotus Vale - Fixed that it produced one instead of three mana of any one color.
* Melek, Izzet Paragon - Fixed that it also triggered for spells cast from other libraries.
* Natural Affinity - Fixed that the effect did not end on end of turn.
* Persecute - Fixed that the target player instead of the controller was able to choose the color.
* Petalmane Baku - Fixed wrong activation cost.
* Reality Acid - Fixed that the triggered ability did force sacrifice of wrong permanents.
* Teferi's Realm - Fixed that not only the permanents of the choosing player where phased out but all permanents in range of Teferi's Realm controller.

1.4.2v5 (2015-08-02)
* Fixed that commander mana replacement effect did wrong mana replacements if additional mana was produced from abilities of opponents.
* Fixed weird replacement effects showing from other games.
* Fixed a bug of ConditionalTriggeredAbility if the ability triggered multiple times at the same time.
* Rollback - Fixed that UI is locked after a accepted rollback request.

* Artificer's Epiphany - Fixed tooltip text.
* Celestial Mantle - Fixed that it incorrectly untapped all of its owners lands.
* Dead Reckoning - Fixed that source of damage was not set correctly.
* Deathforge Shaman - Fixed bug that rollbacks game if multikicker is used.
* Dreadwing - Fixed wrong activation cost and tooltip text.
* Kalitas, Bloodchief of Ghet - Added missing Legendary supertype.
* Meddling Mage - Fixed that it incorrectly prevented copies of spells (e.g. Isochron Scepter) from being put on the stack.
* Norin the Wary - Fixed that it also returned from commandzone if put there from commander replament effect.
* Orbs of Warding - Fixed possible null pointer exception.
* Primal Clay, Primal Plasma - Fixed enters the battlefield type choose handling.
* Recurring Nightmare - Fixed that permanents instead of creatures could be sacrificed to activate the ability.
* Sekki, Seasons' Guide - Fixed that it wrongly returned to hand instead to battlefield.
* Stranglehold - Fixed the not working abilities.


1.4.2v4 (2015-07-25)
* Fixed some creatures with singleton evasion abilities that sometimes faiedl to work correctly (e.g. Orchard Spirit).
* Fixed a lot of storage lands to calculate available mana correctly.


* City of Shadows - Fixed that the first ability was missing.
* Fiery Conclusion - Fixed wrong rarity for Magic Origins.
* Garruk, Apex Predator - Fixed the triggered ability of the Emblem given to opponent.
* Gideon, Battle-Forged - Fixed that giving indestructibility effect did not end as intended.
* Hold the Line - Fixed wrong casting costs.
* Mage-Ring Network - Fixed calculation of available mana.
* Sekki, Seasons' Guide - Fixed that the return to battlefield ability did not work.
* Simic Manipulator - Fixed that also 0 counters could be selected.
* Swift Warkite - Fixed that it returned object also if the object changed zone meanwhile.
* The Abyss - Fixed target choosing of players not controlling the Abyss concerning hexproof / shroud.


1.4.2v4a3 (2015-07-22) - (Only installed on xmage.de and woogerworks.info)
* Fixed some exile zone names not showing the ID of the owning object.

* Coastal Drake - Fixed that the activated ability did only return the Coastal Drake itself to owners hand.
* Daretti, Scrap Savant - Fixed that the triggered emblem effect did also move the artifact if it already left the graveyard meanwhile.
* Garruk, Apex Predator - Fixed that the wrong token image was shown for the beast tokens. They are correctly implemented as 3/3 deathtouch black beasts, but the tokens it showed are 3/3 beasts with no abilities.
* Gather the Pack - Fixed that the second selected card (spell mastery) was not moved to hand.
* Rally the Ancestors - Fixed that the delayed exile effect still did move the card if it left the battlefield meanwhile.
* Unstable Frontier - Fixed that also a not controlled land could be selected as target land.

1.4.2v4a2 (2015-07-20) - (Only installed on xmage.de)
* Fixed that the emblem token images of the Origins Planeswalker were not shown.
* Fixed token image handling so that images from the set of the creating card are used if possible.
* Fixed a bug of random deck generator.
* Transform-Planeswalker - Fixed that a additional effect only happens if the planeswalker was actually exiled and returned from the effect

* Gideon's Phalanx - Fixed wrong token name from Soldier to Knight.
* Jace, Telepath Unbound ( Jace, Vryn's Prodigy ) - Fixed that the ability of his emblem did not work.
* Omniscience - Workaround to be able to use Omniscience alternate casting cost for fused spells.
* Sigil of Sleep - Fixed that the triggered effect only worked for combat damage instead of all dealt damage.

1.4.2v4a1 (2015-07-17) - (Only installed on xmage.de and xmage.woogerworks.info)
* Fixed that the transform planeswalkers did not return from exile under owner's control but under previous controller's control.
* Fixed that name of face down cards were unintended shown while moving effect is on the stack (Necropotence).
* StormAbility - Fixed that the storm amount was rest if a game state was restored (e.g. undo mana tapping).
* Fixed that after using the rollback turns feature the wrong player can be used as next player (fixes #1032).
* Fixed that after using the rollback turns feature the UI was locked.
* KickerAbility - Fixed that KickerCondition did not work correctly for kicker cards with multiple kicker options.
* Fixed Magic Origins booster generation to include double faced creature/planeswalker cards.

* Hobble - Fixed the not working last ability of Hobble.
* Necromantic Summons - Fixed tooltip text.
* Touch of Moonglove - Fixed that the dealayed trigger only worked for one creature instead of for all damaged creatures.

1.4.2v3a3 (2015-07-14)
* Fixed for some cards that allow to play the top card of a players library that it also was possible to play the top card of other players libraries if the card was revealed (Magus of the Future, Future Sight, Melek, Izzet Paragon, Courser of Kruphix, Garruk's Horde, Oracle of Mul Daya).

* Blood-Cursed Knight - Fixed tooltip text.
* Liliana, Defiant Necromancer - Fixed that the emblem did not trigger (fixes #1110).
* Sigil of Valor - Fixed wrong trigger condition.
* The Abyss - Fixed non conform target handling.
* The Great Aurora - Fixed exception error when spell resolves.


1.4.2v3a2 (2015-07-13)
* Thundersong Trumpeter - Fix that its ability did not prevent attacking.
* Descent of the Dragons: Fixed that not all affected creatures were destroy first and then the tokens created.
* Embermaw Hellion - Fixed that its abilities did not affect token permanents.
* March of Souls: Fixed that not all affected creatures were destroy first and then the tokens created.
* Akki Lavarunner / Tok-Tok, Volcano Born - Fixed that its abilities did not affect token permanents.


1.4.2v3a1 (2015-07-12)
* Fixed possible null pointer exception during combat (caused server crash 2015-07-12).
* Some fixes/improvements to generation of available mana.
* Fixed a problem that triggered abilities of created tokens were not removed properly if the token left has left the battlefield.


* Gideon's Phalanx - Fixed that the spell mastery condition is only checked once during resolution of the spell.
* Gilt-Leaf Winnower - Fixed that the triggered ability was not optional.
* Hixus, Prison Warden - Fixed that the triggered ability did not exile the creature.
* Jace, Telepath Unbound - Fixed that the planeswalker was colorless instead of blue.
* Kytheon's Tactics - Fixed that the spell mastery condition is only checked once during resolution of the spell.
* Send to Sleep - Fixed that the spell mastery condition is only checked once during resolution of the spell.
* Whip of Erebos - Fixed that the exile effect also exiled the target if it meanwhile went to exile and returned.
* Zurgo Helmsmasher - Fixed a bug that could happen if Zurgo is used as commander.

1.4.2v2 (2015-07-09)
* Kicker - Fixed that kicked status was not correctly checked, if a spell with kicker was cast again.
* Fixed that permanents that became creatures are not removed from combat if the creature making effect is removed during combat.
* Fixed a bug that prevented that the width of connection column in user list was restored.
* Fixed wrong card numbers of Origins cards that prevented that this cards were used in drafts/sealed Origins tournaments.
* Fixed client handling of Phyrexian mana showing "pay 2 life" button to often.
* Overhaul and fix of random deck generation (thanks to Simown).


* Hallowed Moonlight - Fixed exception if a token should be moved to exile.
* Oona's Blackguard - Fixed subtype change not takinng changeling or is all creature types into account.
* Tragic Arrogance - Fixed letting you choose permanents of the wrong player.


1.4.2v2a2 (only installed yet on xmage.de + http://www.woogerworks.info public server
* Renown - Fixed name of active status to be renowned.
* Fixed that end turn effects (e.g. Day's Undoing) did not remove triggered abilities waiting to go onto the stack.

* Chandra's Ignition - Fix wrong source of damage for the spell.
* Dark Dabbling - Fixed wrong regenerate handling.
* Enshrouding Mist - Fixed that the target creature was not untapped if renowned.
* Erebos's Titan - Fix the indestructibility condition not working correctly.
* Infectious Bloodlust - Fixed wrong boost value and that haste was given to the enchnated creature.
* Liliana, Heretical Healer - Fixed that she was exiled and transformed even if no longer on the battlefield as the effect resolved.
* Moltensteel Dragon - Fixed missing flying ability.
* Talent of the Telepath - Fixed that the revealed cards did not always go to graveyard.
* Undead Servant - Fixed tooltip text.


1.4.2v2a1 (only installed yet on xmage.de + http://www.woogerworks.info public server
* Dash - Fixed that the creature was returned to hand from dash also if it left battlefield before.
* Fixed wrong text (was monstrous) of becomes renown triggered ability.

* Angel of Serenity - Fixed that the exiled cards did not return when the Angel left the battlefield.
* Dark Dabbling - Fixed the missing card draw effect.
* Liliana, Heretical Healer - Fixed that the Zombie token was not created if Liliana was exiled by her effect.
* Mistmeadow Witch - Fixed the unexpected tap source cost.
* Necromantic Summons - Fixed that it could only target the controller's graveyard.
* Willbreaker - Fixed that it didn't trigger when targeted by abilities.

Fixed with 1.4.2v1
* Fixed a bug about must be blocked requirement forcing the blocker to block multiple attackers locking the game.
* Renown - Fixed that it did not work correctly to renown a creature that changed zone after it was already renown.
* Menace Fixed that it was a singleton class, what causes the crashs on the public server and it shouldn't be a singleton anyway.


* Cruel Revival - Fixed wrong rarity.
* Ensoul Artifact - Fixed not giving P/T to the target artifact.
* Erebos's Titan - Fixed that the ability triggers from graveyard instead from battlefield.
* Lignify, Darksteel Mutation - Fixed that also the color of the enchanted creature was removed.
* Nissa's Pilgrimage - Fixed a bug that the search library dialog was not shown.
* Relic Seeker - Fixed wrong rarity.
* Topan Freeblade - Added missing Vigilance.
* Volcanic Rambler - Fixed wrong tap activation cost.* Wild Instincts - Fixed that it did not apply the boost before the fight.

Lignify makes enchanted creature loses its color.(dunno if its become green or colorless)

Hey,

dont know if this is the right spot, but my client seems to lose all the images every couple of logons, I am always asked to redownload all 20k of them.... :/ Symbols seem to stay, is there a way to point the program to a directory where it can find the images localy or somehthing like that?

Edit: Ok, i manualy changed the directory to another one and am waiting now to see if the problem is solved...

Updated from previous xMage...
Trying to connect to server: Localhost
Getting popup message "unable to connect to server. Wrong client version 1.4.2v0, expecting version 1.4.1v3."

LevelX: Restart your system. There is an xmage server still running with the old version on your system. Sometimes it's not canceled correctly.

Volcanic Rambler (ORI) and some other creatures have tap abilities which shouldnt require tapping.

LevelX: Fixed Volcanic Rambler. It's helpful if you name the other bugged cards.

Mistweadow Witch is the second card that shouldnt have to tap

client hangs and crashes while playing edh vs ai on local server no error prompt from the client however here is the last bit of info from the client console

the "warn country flag resource not found" error extended forever upward I just didn't feel the need to flood the post with 100000 iterations of the same warning however i thought you should know there was many many more then the one instance i have spoiled.

LevelX: Flag error fixed (probably upper case char problem that does not happen on windows systems).
Does the server log show a FATAL error?


what i posted was the full ending of the client log there was no other information for clarity the full console log consisted of
the stock normal start up / connection lines
once i started and joined the game the log started spewing the flag resource warning repeatedly
about turn three of the game the computer hung on a priority pass to move the turn phase forward
the client hard locked in this state as not even menu items responded

Hello, I'm newer to xmage but I have about 200 or so games in on a few updated versions.

I downloaded the new version and connected to a server that allowed it. I then proceeded to get the images and after that was done it said it couldn't un zip the files. I plan on waiting till the bigger servers are up but I feel like I might just be missing something?

Also I was wondering if the cancel on mana producing things will be/is fixed. Such as if I tap a dual land and decide I don't want to and hit cancel it just proceeds to the next phase. Also if clicking on Birds of Paradise and hit cancel it just won't cancel. Again this is in the previous version but just a question.

LevelX: Currently the undo for dual lands or Birds of Paradise does work. I'm not aware of problems of that kind in the near past.

When Leonin Arbiter in play and I cast Search For Tomorrow then i cant pay 2 to ignore his effect and search just canceled

LevelX: You have to click on Leonin Arbiter and use the special action before Search For Tomorrow resolves.
(a special action can be used any time a player has priority)

Also dash returns creatures to your hand at end of turn even if they died that turn.

Nissa's Pilgrimage (new card from ORI) seems bugged, the library popup isn't being displayed when you cast it and therefore you can't search for the lands.

LevelX: Fixed with the next update.
