  • What happens when you try to download the images, what message or errors do you see?
  • In the launcher's options, enable the console (a black CMD-looking window), then launch XMage and try downloading the images again, the console should print some info on what happens.
  • What operative system are you using?
  • Where did you put the XMage folder? Depending on your setup, putting it under Program Files could be causing Windows to require admin privileges to save files there. Moving the XMage folder elsewhere (e.g.: to your Documents folder) could solve that.
  • Did you change the location where images are stored under XMage's preferences? If yes then try with the default. If no then try changing it to somewhere else and see what happens.
  • Did you check if your firewall is not blocking the download? If XMage/Java is being blocked by your firewall then the program probably can't get the images downloaded. Check what is and isn't allowed through your firewall and find if XMage has permission through.
The above should be a good start to figuring it out.

You mean your firewall isn't activated? Because while Java isn't really my thing, my first layman guess by looking at it is that the firewall is refusing Java's attempt at connecting.

All my best guesses I can think of would suggest something on your end, mainly the firewall, or at least something that is blocking Java, so other than that I can't really come up with anything else without being the one experiencing the problem through my own eyes.

Hopefully someone with better knowledge of Java will have something else to say soon.
