i have been using Xmage for a while but suddenly it just stoped working. so i decided to redownload it from the launcher. After doing this i kept haveing the same problem so i restarted my pc, and now i get this error when i try to open the launcher

"Windows can't open this file:
File: XMageLauncher-0.3.8.jar
To open this file, Windows needs to know what program you want to open it. Windows can go online to look it up automaticlly, or you can manually select from a list of programs from a list of programs that are installed on your computer.

What do you want to do?
Use the web service to find the correct program
Select a program from a list of installed programs


If i use the web it opens google chrome and goes nowhere. if anyone can help that would be greatly appreciated :)

Right-click the launcher, select "Open with..." and then choose Java. To be more specific, you want your launcher to be opened with javaw.exe. If you can't find Java then you might have accidentally uninstalled it. You can go to this page to check if you have the latest version of Java installed:

That didnt work and I reinstalled java and it still didnt work so I just reset my pc. I needed to reset it anyways. But thank you for atleast trying to help :)

That thing is reoccurring now. just came back after the last update perhaps the AER update.

Where every few mins the screen will start tearing and when you move your mouse around the screen glitches and kind of moves around with it.

last time this happened they update the java version or something.

I recently updated my java but I cannot see if it changed it, I had updated well before this started again.

Hello!
I cannt join the game because my launcher has problem to download new version of Xmage
Reading config from *url*
XMage version installed: 1.4.19V1 (2016-12-17)
XMage version available: 1.4.21V0 (2017-01-15)
New version of XMage available

Failed to download XMage from *url*
Downloading XMage from *url*
Failed to download XMage from *url*

Java version installed: 1.8.0_102
Java version available: 1.8.0_102
XMage version installed: 1.4.19V1 (2016-12-17)
XMage version available: 1.4.21V0 (2017-01-15)

Failed to download XMage from *url*

All times when i try to download it, it writes this log, and all time i see "A new version of Xmage is avalaible". Also i tried to download 1.4.2 version as ZIP, and when i clicked startClientWin7.bat it writes to me A Java Exeption has Occured, but i already downloaded Java from launcher to the folder where launcher exists. Whats solution?

This is the error I get when trying to install on Ubuntu 16.04

Please ignore, the problem was that openJDK doesn't play nice with the Jar file. Using the default JRE seems to have done the trick.
