Manalink Update April 8 2009 - Final Update

warning: Due to the sheer quantity of cards, I only did minimal testing.

As mentioned in another thread, this is my last card update patch until the 2000 card limit
is broken. I wanted to go out with a bang, and I think this submission accomplishes that.
I added a couple cards just to see what Mathusalem would do with the art :)
Speaking of work I'm hoping other people will do... I was very lazy with the set, DB Ability,
and AI base value for the new cards. Someone needs to update those. In fact, every
single card in the csv should have its AI Base Value reviewed, since the value for most cards
are poorly chosen. So if anyone's looking for an easy project, there you go.
Enjoy!

Bugs fixed:
-correct creature type text on Cursecatcher
-Make Bitterblossom show in deck editor (at the expense of no longer being a Faerie... still Tribal, though)
-Update Dual and Shock lands to have basic land subtypes
-Fix Kjeldoran Outpost bug
-Set numpics to 1 for a bunch of recent cards
-Change Beacon of Immortality to Instant (wording bug only)
-Allow Mystical Tutor to find Interrupts
-Fix Mulldrifter / Ressurection interaction
-Turn off Skullclamp, Karoos
-Rewrite Brainstorm to fix the random weird bugs
-Fixed hand size bug for Mox Diamond

New Bugs:
-Aether Vial doesn't interact right with cost reduction creatures
-Balancing Act doesn't interact with Symbiotic Wurm (and others) properly, but the same is true of Balance.
-Goblin Lackey triggers only on combat damage
-If Light Greaves is un-equipped, creature doesn't lose haste (same bug as Concordant Crossroads, basically)
-Nezumi Shortfang, when flipped, isn't Legendary or a Shaman (still a Rogue). Also, no visual indicator that card is flipped.
-AI only knows about Green mana for Noble Hierarch
-Goblin Tutor returns to your hand on a 2 instead of searching for a Goblin Tutor
-Big Bug: creatures that pump other creatures until EOT stop working if the creature
granting the ability leaves play. (ex: exalted). I didn't realize this until
I had already added a ton of these cards.
-Dauthi Slayer and Tattermunge Maniac don't have to attack each turn... unless there is a Juggernaut in play
-Dark depths is not snow, and Marit Lage has the usual indestructible bug. Neither are likely to ever matter.

Notes:
-I tried pretty hard to make Rafiq of the Many, but no luck this go around. I'm
sure we'll figure double strike out eventually.
-The new domain cards DO take into account land types from the Ravnica shocklands
-I also got pretty close on Isochron Scepter, but the game crashes when you active it with no legal targets.

And now for the exciting part...

New cards:
Door to Nothingness
Aether Vial (could use better AI, but I was lazy)

What about the fix for the Bounce lands that are so affecting Sealed deck play?

Can you please disable them or fix them.
They truly are ruining Sealed Deck play! This is very important.

Thanks for all the work you've done jatill. All of us have benefited from your tremendous work & dedication to ManaLink. I'm pretty sure that the 2000 card limit will be conquered, and if for any reason it is not, we all have years of fun ahead of us either way! In the meantime, we should all take the time to catch are collective breaths and really give the game a real shakedown to ferret out all the bugs and continue to list them in monopoman's bug tracking thread. The more testing that is done, the more we can zero in on the bugs that can be documented and hopefully corrected.

Also, I still hold out hope that the cards that now are available will make their way into Shandalar in due time!

Again, please look into the Bounce land problem as it, IMHO, is of paramount importance!

Thanks again for everything! 8)

Damn, nice work... I like especially how there are many central deck cards, or in other words, cards that an entire deck revolves around. You also did many of my wish list cards, and a lot of really good cards for my 499 card deck style :) And nonbasic lands... mmm...

I'm really impressed :) Jatill, great work and great selection of cards too!
With this new huge quantity of cards, now I hope that modders will find the way to enhance the deckbuilder as Mok did with 8th edition... best luck for future!!

I did not know that Karoos referred to those bounce lands.

Now that I look at it, I guess it's short for Kangaroos, i.e bounce lands! #-o

First of all thank you for adding 100 cards! I read you were going to do this for the 2000 card limit (1950 now I think). Are you planning on working on bugs now or is this a for real final :^o ? If so what are you going to do with all your time now? I know you are addicted to working on this game  . I don't see you being able to walk away now :D . Well whatever you do know you are the man that made a lot of things possible for all use players and your work is timelessly saved.

Man, you know me too well. No, I'm by no means walking away. Next week I plan on digging in and addressing all the bugs that I know how. After that, I want to improve my draft program. Next, I want to program the SPAT format (aka Type 4, aka infinite mana but only 1 spell per turn). So I'll be staying busy. And if there are other developers that want help, I'll be there for them.

This update pushes the number of cards to about 1800 (pretty awesome considering Microprose only gave us around 800, and Mok the next 350). If someone figures out the card limit problem, and 1 or 2 more serious developers ever join the project, I'd like to jump back in full force and try to get 11th edition added. At this point I'm optimistic that it's possible, considering a single person was able to add 100 new cards in a week. (granted, I was able to cherry-pick 100 cards from the 10,000 available...)

Edit: Oh yeah, I also plan on playing the game a bunch. I've been so busy creating that I haven't been able to enjoy the fruits of my labor! First on the list is my Eureka deck with quad Hellkite Overlord, Akroma, Spirit of the Night, and Progenitus.

I've been playing a Shrine deck, and haven't seen anything. Can you be specific, and post to the bugs thread?
