I assume Jatill wants it to be ridiculously challenging Challenge 2 is even cheaper then Challenge 1. The Boss battle is a real pain and I despise it quite a bit.

I think saving would be a nice feature not saving in the middle of the game but it is annoying that you can get to game 8 or 9 when it gets much harder then lose then have to redo the whole thing. Compared to most video games around this challenge makes them look like child's play.

well the most annoying thing so far is to get handed the chaos orb avatar deck and to be informed that it is not a legal deck and that therefore I have lost :D

edit: whoops, wrong thread. was in response to the challenge 2 of course....

When will you be incorporating these challenge modes into the Shandalar game itself?

I realize there are issues preventing the Shandalar game from accepting new cards, but is this actively being worked on?

Thanks and great work so far!

It is not being worked on. The only coders who have the skillz to crack that nut are busy right now.

Hi everybody!

I've been playing for weeks now and i can't get passed challenge #4. The game crashes everytime... I can get past round 1, but the second crashed in round 5 or 6...

Am I the only one with this crashing problem, or are there more out there? Maybe i'm missing something here...

Thanks
H

i had the same issue (the spawnwrithe round). as soon as there are like 8 creatures on the table the game will crash during the AI´s first upkeep.

try to don´t let the AI get that many creatures (echoing truth, balance, tabernacle just to name a few solutions)
Retired a long time ago. I will not reply.

Hey guys the last update broke summoning sickness for me in the regular gauntlet. As soon as creatures enter play they can attack and when I save a game during gauntlet the game automatically exits without saving.

Hi and welcome :D

You seems to have 2 problems :
- Summoning sickness : not sure (still didn't have time to try the last update  ) but did you check the config.txt in your Magic folder ? In this file, you can activate or desactivate the summoning sickness feature.
- Save game : I really don't know... :? All I can say is that you can't save during challenge mode. Maybe your config.txt is set to challenge mode so if you run "Normal Mode" in the launcher, you will be in "Challenge Mode" in Magic.

In one world, check your config.txt, maybe it will resolve all your problems.

Thank you Squee, I'm a little bit of a novice over here how do I access and modify that txt file. Update : Just checked the config file and I don't see anything in reference to summoning sickness or is that the haste option?

Yes, summoning sickness = haste option

To edit this file, just open it with notepad and change the settings as you like. Just a little reminder :
0 : will desactivate an option
1 : will activate it

Would it be possible to give the planeswalker cards something to indicate how many loyalty counters they have when they come into play? Right now the only way is my memory (bad!) or actually casting the card. Perhaps a power/toughness number, or changing the keyword to Jace - 5 or something? Or even in the card text itself, just a little number like Loyalty - 5? I'm sure I'll remember how many each starts with eventually, but for now I don't have any idea :p

Yeah, I'll change the type line to:

Planeswalker - Garruk (3)

Sorry, maybe I'm the old, grouchy bear here but I don't like at all this idea of unlocking cards. I know I'm skilled enough to unkock them, but I think it is just a bad idea: what WE ALL did until now was to enhance the game so that ALL new players could still enjoy it but this unlocking system by fact limits the number of availeable cards to the most skilled players only, being just a penalty for the novices.
Also consider this: each time I would format my PC or want to share Magic with a friend, I would be forced to re-unlock the cards or to waste space keeping a backup copy of my whole Magic directory!
Also, it causes a bug with "tutors" and ring of ma'ruf: I 've just taken a Jester Cap with the ring but I was not able to use it because of the new locking system.

Jatill, please set this thing as optional.

Nevinyrral's Disk just destroyed my planeswalkers! I realize this is a consequence of them being enchantments internally, but it still sucks :p I don't know if anything can be done about it, but I thought people should know.
