[con]Banshee's Blade puts the counter before damage resolves

Describe the Bug:
Banshee's Blade puts the counter a bit earlier if I am not wrong.I attacked with Auriok Replica 2/2 equipped with Banshee's Blade with 0 counters on it.AI blocked with Observant Alseid 2/2.Only Observant Alseid died my Auriok Replica became 3/3 as Banshee's Blade got a counter.Is this correct?

What exactly should be the correct behavior/interaction ?
Banshee's Blade the counter has to be put after combat damage resolves?

No, it's not correct. Creatures are destroyed by damage due to state-based actions; those should run before Banshee's Blade's trigger resolves.
