[co]Due Respect doesn't affect permanent if cast in responce
by Aswan jaguar » 31 Jul 2016, 10:59
Describe the Bug:
If I cast Due Respect in response to a permanent cast in stack although Due Respect resolves first the permanent enters untapped.
Which card did behave improperly ?
Due Respect
Which update are you using?(date, name)Which type(Duel,Gauntlet,Sealed Deck)
Manalink 2016/01/15: Battle For Zendikar v2,duel
What exactly should be the correct behavior/interaction ?
Due Respect if cast in response to a permanent being cast and so resolves first it will affect permanent that entered the battlefield after Due Respect has resolved
Are any other cards possibly affected by this bug ?

Nor any of the other "permanents [of x type] [that y player controls/casts]" cards. Most of them are permanents without flash, so the bug won't manifest with them nearly as often.

For working as intended, the card should be recoded as "interrupt", I could do that but it's hard for me editing "manalink.csv" as now, someone should do it instead.

Making it an interrupt will break more things than it fixes.
The proper way to do this is to allow arbitrary cards to replace the entering-the-battlefield event (EVENT_RESOLVE_SPELL). Commits to Shandalar's wip-gg branch on August 27 and 28 show how to do that. (No point giving specific commit hashes; as a wip branch, I rebase it frequently.)
Failing that, these can be made to work with cards already on the stack by walking the stack when they resolve and tapping affected cards that are already there. (Or adding counters, if appropriate - cards like Oona's Blackguard that make other cards enter the battlefield with counters have the exact same problem. I can't think of any with Flash, though.)
