[fixed]Relentless Dead

Postby guyfromcroswell » 12 Sep 2016, 02:14

I am getting repeated crashes, and most of the posts point towards it being a specific card that causes it. The problem is, the report below is always the same no matter what deck or cards I use. I have taken the time to run one deck in particular repeatedly and make sure every card plays at some point, which they do. It makes it seem like the crashes are completely random.

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: APPCRASH

I've also gotten one other crash that gave me the dump.dmp, but it happens very rarely.

If you think you have found a bug, report it in the Bug Reports forum. Just read the "Read This First" thread and follow instructions on how to leave a report.

In particular, which version. That dump file gives me nonsensical results under the latest release (EMNv2).

Korath, how do I check which version? Stassy, this isn't an issue with a specific card.

In your installation directory, there's a subdirectory named "magic_updater", and in that, a very large file named "Manalink.csv". Open that up with notepad and paste the first line here. That first line will also be very long - we need the whole thing, not just whatever notepad word-wraps it to. The last thing in it should be either "Aether Revolt" or "Future Expansion"; and the first things in the second line will be "0;Air Elemental".

That'll be enough for us to figure out which release series you're running. For the specific patch in that release series, we also need to know the size and modification date of your ManalinkEh.dll file.

Unless your installation is very broken, your problems really are likely to be with a specific card, or a series of specific cards - there's unfortunately been some releases where there's been a lot of cards broken. :( The second crash dump almost definitely is a single card.

(Note to self: we really, really must start putting a version.txt file into every patch release again.)

You can also check your version by filtering set in DeckEditor and see which one it is (though you won't get the latest fix)

Yes I've installed the latest patch. Korath, you were right, it is long.

I have 2 manalink.eh files.

That's EMNv1, which isn't the latest patch, and in which a large majority of cards that activate via the Rules Engine are broken. That's likely what caused your first crash (which doesn't have enough information to investigate).

Second crash is Relentless Dead:

This thread probably could've been moved into the bug forum immediately; it's definitely high time for it now.

It took all of thirty seconds to confirm this. Just kill off a Relentless Dead while you have any mana available but no other zombies in your graveyard, and click on the appropriate death legacy. (Might even be easier than that; it was just the first thing I tried.) Please unarchive.
