I just had the AI cast Journey to Nowhere immediately after clearing the bf with a Wrath of God. Anyone have an idea why?
Working on: housekeeping and archived reports

Maybe because it was the only available card castable?
AI convoke casted Angel of Salvation and prevented the next 5 damages...on me and my creatures despite having creatures on the bf too
Also the Arcbound Ravager disease spread also on vampires like Vampire Aristocrat, when alone and attacking AI will sac himself to death for a non existant buff (don't think Blood Bairn did that before...oh wait didn't see the "another" word )
Edit: Seems to be AI Angel of Salvation will always cast on opponent and his creatures...

Yeah, I just tried again and AI does make better choices for its own Minotaur indeed. Always targets itself or its creatures when I lose a flip for mine, though.Korath wrote:Is it your Karplusan Minotaur or the AI's? If yours, does the AI pick targets any better if it controls the minotaur instead?

Addressed Karplusan Minotaur, Angel of Salvation, Journey to Nowhere; tried a little harder with Vampire Aristocrat and other creatures with similar mechanics.

The AI never puts any demons/angels/dragons onto the battlefield when attacking with Kaalia of the Vast .

Is there any way to discourage the AI from wasting its whole turn activating Sensei's Diving Top over and over? It is a pretty regular occurrence that it will blow most or all of its mana rearranging the top 3 cards 4 or 5 times and then finally tap to draw, causing it to repeat the whole process later.
(Reminds me of Zuran Orb problems a bit)

AI doesn't take into account Dictate of the Twin Gods double damage effect but I guess it's a bit too much to handle...

AI never considers protecting its planeswalkers even if those are token-generators like Sorin or Elspeth. IMO AI should almost always chump in order to protect any 'walkers.

This is really just part of the larger problem that the AI never tries to protect anything for future turns. The AI tries to maximize the board state for the current turn only. As a result, it will always attack even if you will kill it (or one of its plainswalkers) counter attacking on the next turn. As far as I know this AI behavior is not changing anytime soon as has been around forever.takijeden wrote:AI never considers protecting its planeswalkers even if those are token-generators like Sorin or Elspeth. I have yet to see the AI target itself with Compulsive Research. Targeting the player could make sense when AI controls Underworld Dreams and/or Megrim, but it just never draws cards itself, no matter what its board state/deck list looks like.

When AI has one of its non flying creature enchanted by Oppressive Rays in bf and I attack with a flying creature, Oppressive Rays is automatically triggered and AI pays mana for nothing since its creature can't reach mine

AI doesn't use Gideon Jura's +2 ability and rarely uses its -2 one. To be more precise, I've only ever seen it destroy tapped creatures that had been stolen via stuff like Control Magic.
It usually plays Gideon, then passes the turn without using any of its abilities even if there are legal targets for its -2 or no crits on the player's side of the board, which would make the +2 risk-free.
Also, the AI loves charging Otherworld Atlas as often as possible, but I haven't seen it use it to make players draw yet.

AI doesn't cast Akroan Horse, even if it's the only castable spell in its hand or its hand is full of Horses. A Torpor Orb on the battlefield seems to incentivize it to cast Horse, though.

AI uses Barrin, Master Wizard's ability exhaustively, sacrificing all but one land, which effectively knocks it out of the game.
On a related note, AI generally sacrifices lands first when being given a choice. If it has a zillion 0/1 Plant tokens and I attack with Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre, it will sacrifice 4 lands.

AI prioritizes untapping Grim Monolith for no apparent reason. Just sinks all the mana it has available into activating untap ability again and again, despite its hand being full of castable spells.
AI also casts Pact of Negation when it has less than 5 mana available and as a result loses on its next upkeep.
