CSV errors & Legacy/Effect cards with no text

I noticed there's quite a lot of cards that generate "empty" legacy cards, as they lack the proper text in Manalink.csv.
Please note them when you're playing and report them in this thread (moderators, please "stick" this post), so we could add a proper effect text, they're just too ugly in this way.

AKROMA AVATAR!!

When using the Akroma avatar, I can't tell which creatures have Haste or Vigilance b/c there's no icon. Haste isn't a huge deal, but I hate trying to remember which critters have Vigilance. If the "effect" card said what abilities Akroma bestowed, that would be perfect. :D

I've tried to add the Effects/Legacy text whenever I've come across them in play. So having a reporting thread is a good idea.

porphyre@ We have a problem displaying the text of a single effect if it happens to be one of a number of selectable alternative effects.

The manalink format allows for the listing of separate effects in the Effects/Legacy Text fields by using |#1, |#2, |#3 to separate each effect entries. Although it still works on the older cards, I'm not sure the coding has ever been transferred over to C in order to allow it work with the newer cards - I tried it on a number of cards sometime back but they failed to recognise the codes.
It seems more recently the newer cards just list all the possible effects in the Effects/Legacy Text fields with 'and/or'.
The same seems to go for 'inflatable' cards which use '|n' in the Effects/Legacy Text fields to display the current power/toughness as the effect is 'pumped'.

Do we have to add also legacy effect that are not in bf for gameplay purpose but only for coding purpose like the Modular creatures (Arcbound Ravager, Arcbound Hybrid and so on...)?

I didn't have time to finish my checking on "When creature die" card effect because there is around 50ish card to be checked (I think I checked at last 25ish of them, the ones reported as textless included).

For those who want to finish the test, here is a deck I made to be checked in legit mirror match with lotalife debug mode (since lands are City of Brass), unfortunately at work there is an internet problem and I can't connect from there these days.

I noticed also there are some bugged cards that I couldn't report (maybe Brine Hag or some goblinz) but I forgot about them, will do them once internet is back

I've been through the test.dck file you posted and added the relevant text if needed. Many thanks for that, it made the whole process a lot easier.
I've since run a 'When * dies' filter on the Rules Text fields in the manalink.xls file and discovered quite a few more. Gonna be busy it seems. :wink:

Edit: Added 'Effect Text' to all cards with 'Target creature gets' and 'Target creature gains' - please don't report these now until after next update.

Funny you should mention that - I've already done them.
I been meaning to do it for sometime as the Effect/Legacy Titles have always been somewhat inconsistent, and many cards have multiple keyword effects/abilities listed in their effects cards text which can't be shown in the available space for the title.

Same question about card that exile spells and can buyback them (Kaho, Minamo Historian for example, exiled card show only their title and are textless)

OK, thanks for those.

I did the ‘Exalted’, 'Soulshift' and 'Rebound' cards today.

The 'exiled' and 'when * dies' cards seem somewhat inconstant as to whether they produce an Effect Card or not.
The other problem I've found is the one I mentioned earlier - that some cards produce more than one Effects Card in play for different effects. For example: Burr Grafter will display one Effects Card attached to a target creature for its 'Target creature gets +2/+2 until end of turn.' ability, and a separate card for the 'Soulshift (When this creature dies, you may return target Spirit card with converted mana cost 3 or less from your graveyard to your hand.)' effect.
And as the cards don't recognise the |#1, |#2, codes - both displayed Effects Cards will have to show both listed effects. But unfortunately there's not a lot I can do about that.

Shinen of Life's Roar legacy effect has the Rules Engine legacy effect, don't know if it's fixable because it's a Rule Engine activation of the Channel ability
