If by "old cards" you mean cards from previous DotP games then no there is no tool because cards made for previous versions of the DotP engine have to be re-written for the new engine. Each version of DotP changes parts of the engine both adding and removing pieces. Some cards that were possible in previous versions may or may not be possible in the current version due to those changes. For example cards that could prevent the next X damage were fairly easy to write in DotP 2010 but in later versions were extremely difficult due to changes in the engine (removal of the effect object). Other cards that required the ObjectDC() in DotP 2012 and DotP 2013 have to be changed to rely on other methods either the new LinkedDC() or my faked ObjectDC functions. Filters are done completely differently so any card that used a filter (which covers a very large amount of cards) have to be changed to use the new filter object. And there are other new and removed features that have to be considered. Even simple abilities like Trample, First strike, Lifelink, Deathtouch, and Flying are implemented differently and if not properly updated will cause interaction problems. Due to all these factors it is virtually impossible to write a tool to update card coding from an older version of the engine to a newer version (it requires a human to design the new code for a card).

hey riiak is there a way to search by format like standard,modern,legacy ? and /or search by block ?

If the cards are coded right then yes you can. In the Advanced Filters you can use the String Filter "Expansion" and search for the expansion code. For example Guild Pact would be GPT, Zendikar would be ZEN, etc....

Due note though that not all cards are coded for all sets and cards that are present in multiple sets will only show up for the expansion it was coded for. If modders have been using custom codes in the expansion then the cards they coded will show up with their custom code instead of the proper set code.

thanks for the tools, i just have one problem.
i've made 6 decks so far and when i go into the game in two or three of the decks it adds in over 500 land that i have to remove and adjust every time i start the game. how can i get a permanent fix for this?

That sounds like it is very similar to a problem someone else was having with land earlier, so try what is in this post and see if that helps. If not then you are going to have to provide more details and/or post the problematic decks.

thanks, ill look into it. the problem unfortunately is on one 5 color deck where uses non basic land for mana use. the second is an esper deck.

I was also hoping the solution would also involve one or two of the decks only giving a single land upon booting the game that i also have to correct every time. on top of all the editing using the in game deck editor is reset as well actually.

edit: unfortunately that didnt solve the problem

If that post didn't help then you are going to have to post a lot more details and/or the decks themselves. Simply saying you have a 5 colour deck that doesn't use basic land or an esper deck doesn't give any details as to how the decks are actually set up or configured as such we have no details we can use to help you.

As for the decks resetting in game that is a known problem with the game where it only stores a set number of deck configurations in the profile and custom decks are generally not stored in the finite number of deck configurations. There is nothing we can do about that problem.

I have only cards, art, definitons wads in game dir: yours, kevs and tfm`s +2012 mod without decks. I am creating decks using this awesome tool and i can play nice games with them, even online with brother cause we have same wads. There is only one annoying problem and i am lost about what is causing this. When we win or lose game and we are thrown back to lobby, my game freezes and i must exit with escape (brother`s is fine)and relaunch game. Any idea? It`s not happening with official + expansion decks. Only when atleast one deck is custom.

I have no idea, but there have been many reports of problems with multiplayer (both with and without mods) so it may just be a problem with the net code (which we have no control over).

Now it`s working without any bug or crash mysteriously for 3-4 days. I am not sure what fixed it, but it`s great! Thanks for this awesome tool again

I just thought about a nice addition to the deck builder, which shouldn't be hard to make (at least, I think so :)). Right after the deck builder has generated an error log upon loading, you could open a window with a text box that displays the log, so that the user is informed without having to look inside the program directory.

Agreed, that would be a nice addition and shouldn't be hard at all. I could probably even improve on the display some by doing some basic parsing/grouping.

I don't know if there is already this option but could be useful a filter to hide duplicates.
Many times with different mods we have many card duplicates so if is not possible to eliminate them could be helpful at least to hide them.
The better solution would be a Wad compactor just to suppress the exact copies.

Currently there is no option to hide duplicates, but one could be made. However, there would be a need to define exactly what constitutes a "duplicate", is it same CARDNAME, same FILENAME, exact same card code (checked via hash)? In the cases of checking CARDNAME or FILENAME then there is the problem of deciding which one to show and which to hide, even then there could be differences between the cards such as in version or who coded the card. So before any option can be made these kinds of questions/problems need to be addressed.

As for a "Wad Compactor" that really is not a good solution as for online play, all players must have the exact same wads to be able to play. If two people have the same wads then one "compacts" theirs those two people then can't play because the wads are different.
