Yep
That would be a dream coming true! But then there would be some more options to think about. I don't want to spoil anything before than we truly have the bear's fur (skin?) but then I will share some ieas that I would like to discuss with the community.

Replying to Masaaki thread, I got an idea : why we don't archive the current Limited Edition and start to remove stuff to put in the entire Innistrad set ? It would be nice for people who like to make draft / sealed and we'll have a decent standard version in the next years, saving the Costructed version for Challenges / EDH / Modern and so on.
BUT, it you like the idea, I need some people to do the grunt work and make the data insertion in CSV / Magic.exe. I WON'T do this unless someone helps me, as the data insertion really bores me to hell.

Orion, even if we've the key to correct the source, it will be a long and boring hack work.
Since the current Limited edition begings to be useless ( Zendikar is already rotated out from Standard, M11 too), the updating of Limited edition seems to me the best way to have an up-to-date Standard and support the Limited players too.

If it doesn't require any programming experience, I'm willing to help.Gargaroz wrote:Replying to Masaaki thread, I got an idea : why we don't archive the current Limited Edition and start to remove stuff to put in the entire Innistrad set ? I have worked with SkyMagic Editor once, if that's what you mean.Gargaroz wrote:Masaaki, do you know how to use the CardEditor ? If yes, you could help.

Yup, that one. You're officially enrolled
Ok, I'll wait 'till the end of October, just in case we have a breakthrough for the source code, than I'll post a thread about the New Limited edition.

Probably totally off the mark, but what the hell.
Sorry, I'm and old boy. When I started playing Shivan Dragon was the kick arse card to have - so I'm somewhat partial to a lot of the old cards in Limited.
Anyway, I digress.
I'm not a programmer so I don't really follow the development thread.
But, as Gargaroz did with GY, can't we just replicate the manalink.csv and magic.exe and create other card pools specifically suited for EDH, Planechase or Archenemy rules, or even turn Limited into a full blown old boys nostalgia trip - all pre-GY? Mana burn and all!
All that's lacking it would seem, as with GY, is figuring out how Limited and Constructed are integrated to work with the Deck Builder and Game play shells. Obviously, GY gets round this by hijacking Limited startup routine and screens. If we could reproduce and mod the current loading routines and add startup screens you could create set themed card pools to your hearts content - doesn't need to have 2000 cards active in all of them.
Just my ten bobs worth.

No way will we have a breakthrough for the source code until end of October, even if aww's brother answers right away and 10 people start working immediately on it.Gargaroz wrote:Yup, that one. You're officially enrolled

Unless, of course someone else is already working on it, who we don't know about and does some real magic.
I long for the time where one man could make a difference...

@ Sonic : I second your vision, I play Magic from Revised and I released the GY mod only for my sake and the one of the older players.
But there are also the new players, who'll enjoy doing a Scar of Mirrodin or Innistrad limited or playing with an up-to-date Standard deck. For this reason, my current idea is to backup the actual Limited edition and then inserting M12, the whole Scars block and Innistrad.
In this way, one could get any Standard deck he could think and play up-to-date limited games.
The EDH edition is doable (and will be nice for Archenemy and Planechase), but we'll still need to do it in a GY-way. Modifying the actual .exe files is not possible as I'm not an hacker and I really don't know how to do it.
@ Foolosopher : I'm well aware of that, I was only referring to aww's brother answer. Plus, I really want to thank you and everyone else is working on "breaking" the source code, including Snacko and the updated drawcards.dll. I really hope you could so some REAL magic
