Forge Beta: 03-09-2012 ver 1.2.5 rev 14663
(Quest icons used created by Teekatas, from his Legendora set http://raindropmemory.deviantart.com)
10409 cards in total.
This version is primarily a maintenance release. The deck converter bugs found in the previous version have been fixed. Version 1.2.5 includes some major changes to the new UI and to alternative costs. If you notice any new bugs in these two areas you should notify the devs.
When you select a new skin in the Preferences view Forge should save the change to the preference file, quit and then automatically re-launch with the new skin displayed. During testing some people have noticed that Forge is not restarting on their computer and they have to re-launch Forge themselves.
The zeppelin in quest mode has technical difficulties. We have a mechanic scheduled to look at it this weekend.
The Forge archive includes a readme.txt file and we ask that you spend a few minutes reading this file as it contains some information that may prove usefull. We do tend to update this file at times and you should quickly read this file and look for new information for each and every new release. Thank you.
We have changed the archival format used for the Forge distributions from ".zip" to ".tar.bz2". There are utilities for Windows, Mac OS and the various *nix's that can be used to decompress these ".tar.bz2" archives. We recommend that you decompress the Forge archive into a new and unused folder.
Some people use the Windows application 7zip. This utility can be found at http://www.7-zip.org/download.html. Mac users can double click on the archive and the application Archive Utility will launch and extract the archive. Mac users do not need to download a separate utility.
Many people helped with this version. A special thank you goes out to them. (Attempted to list names alphabetically):
Doublestrike
Fnoed
Friar Sol
Jeff Wadsworth
Max mtg
Marc
Slapshot5
Sloth
Squee1968

Are you talking about 7zip? You only need to download it once. But the first link should work for mostly everyone, if you don't have it yet.edessa wrote:Im sorry but Im not very good at computers and I have no idea how to open the new 1.2.5 forge archive, and the page you recommend displays about 8 possible options, I have no idea what to do, could you please explain....

Possible minor bug/coding typo: "Part Water" (from Legends) seems to be coded as an Instant, though the card itself appears to be printed that it's a Sorcery.

I tried to use Retraced Image - revealed a Blastoderm from my hand with a Blastoderm in play, but nothing happened.

Read the text.
If a card has Shroud, it cannot be the target of spells or abilities. Blastoderm has Shroud, so a card like Retraced Image won't and can't work on it.
It may be something simple, but this one is definitely not a bug.

When playing, card text is important. Read and understand it. It will usually prevent most errors.

It is in fact a bug. Retraced image doesn't target the card so should work.Vernon wrote:Read the text.

Awesome "bug" - actually a misplay by the AI - the AI's Azorius Guildmage repeatedly counters the triggered ability of my Skyshroud Ridgeback, thus preventing it from sacrificed!
Now that I think of it, that is actually a bug, isn't it? Fading is a triggered ability, and Guildmage is only supposed to be able to counter activated abilities...

Yep, it shouldn't be able to target it at all. I personally don't think dumb AI falls into the category of bugs, but Guildmage shouldn't be able to be activated here.gos wrote:Now that I think of it, that is actually a bug, isn't it? Hope it's ok to post bug reports here. I've been playing Forge via Splashtop remote on my iPad and repeatedly get the error included below, but I'm not sure why. I think tapping and holding sometimes causes it to occur.
Also I was wondering:
-if you could make the OK button a bit bigger? It's extremely hard to hit on an ipad-sized display.
-if you have a bunch of tokens blocking your creatures and they're all in a stack and you want to cast an instant on a particular blocker is there a way to do this?
As always thank you for Forge.
