About sealed magic products images

Postby Max mtg » 16 Mar 2012, 07:23

I've gathered all sealed products images in a single directory /res/pics_product.
I think these images should not be there in SVN and should be kept as downloadable content.

What is needed to set up that downloadable resource? As I can guess, there should be a folder on cardforge.org to download from, and there should be a menu item to initiate the download, and there should be code to perform the download, and there should be a lsit of pictures along with their URLS.

What do we have of these?
DGM prerelease: 2-1-1... not that bad after a year's break.

I'll handle the upload to cardforge.org and a list of the dl urls. I'll handle it like the quest avatar list (where it just hast the url) as opposed to the token list which lists url and a name for the downloaded file. That way whatever the file is named on the server is what it'll download as.

Then it'll probably be easier to link it to the button that's already there for downloading quest content.

I've uploaded the images from pics_product and put product-images.txt (the url links list) in /res folder. Move it wherever it would be most suitable. I only included precons, tournamentpacks and fatpacks in the url list because boosters already have a separate list (/quest/booster-images.txt), so if all the sealed products are to be handled from one list, copy the contents of that file first. I have a feeling though that the others will have to be split into separate files instead so that they will be downloaded to their respective folders.

I'll hand over now to whoever wants to finalize the download setup. (I stay away from the bits of code that actually write files to disk)

Hey Marc, can I ask for a favor? :)

Can you check out the archives include with these messages and merge in any better or missing pics into the product images folder?

It might be nice to get a full set of pics together before these pics are moved out of the SVN and into cardforge.

Can't guarantee that I'll get to it during the rest of the weekend, but otherwise not a problem. I'll post a note here when its done.

I'd like to throw my tournament packs into the running - I've found semi-isometric pictures for all of them and I personally prefer that.

MMQ is still ugly, but I can't find any better!
