There is some inconsistency in the way that artist names are treated, and this is obvious in the early sets where there are a number of misattributions and spelling errors.

Should the artist be recorded as the actual artist, or what is written on the card?

For example, in Alpha we have the case where Douglas Shuler was credited as Douglas Schuler. However the database records most of the cards with 'Schuler', but 4 (Unsummon, Drain Life, Dwarven Warriors and Drain Power) with 'Shuler', which is somewhat inconsistent. Probably the database should record the actual artist as well as the text that actually appears on the card.
