Shandalar - Program Bugs
AI applies potential pumping to creatures sacced in ability cost (new)
I've had this happen a bunch of times: The AI would attack and after blockers are declared sacrifice Child of Thorns or Burr Grafter (or both). Then nohing would get pumped, even though there was ussually a Gnarled Mass left as the only attacker and sensible target to pump.
I'd get it if it was sacrificing Burr Grafter to trigger soulshift and then somehow not going through with the sac ability similar to what seems to happen with Pus Kami (other ticket), but the Child of Thorns has no soulshift.

A followup on this: I've noticed something strange going on with Child of Thorns - the AI will attack and block with it suicidally in situations where +1/+1 would have meant a trade. It looks as if it's trying to apply the bonus to the card itself.
The AI doesn't realize that the creature won't be there to get pumped if it sacrifices itself. I think that's the problem.

Related to the broader issue: I think the AI is for some reason certainly counting creatures that self-sacrifice for pump as able to pump themselves.
I've just had a situation where I attacked the AI with a Gnarled Mass and a Child of Thorns. I had Heart of Yavimaya on the table, so I could pump either for +1/+1.
The AI chumped Gnarled Mass with one 1/1 token, but decided to kill the Child of Thorns and concluded it would need 3 tokens to do that for sure, when it only needed 2 - because it seems to think Child of Thorns can give itself +1/+1. This seems to be the first time I've seen it make an error like that when Child of Thorns (or similar) is on the other side of the board, but it looks conistent with the previos related miscalculations.
Once the Child of Thorns was off the board, it killed Gnarled Mass with 4 1/1 tokens correctly accounting for Heart of Yavimaya.
