deathtouch vs lifelink no trigger if dead? (unreproducible)

 

I had Vampire Nighthawk and attacked with it AI blocked with Vampire Bats enchanted with Sultai Runemark and had a green creature out so bats had deathtouch,too from Sultai Runemark.Both creatures died of deathtouch damage not combat if it makes any difference.The problem is that I didn't get 2 lives from lifelink from the 2 damage made by my Vampire Nighthawk.
