Shandalar - Program Bugs
Instill Energy / stasis bug (unreproducible)
This was a rather complex bug that the AI pulled out against me. It did not seem to function for me when I tried doing it myself, although it's possible I simply didn't activate it properly.
The setup was: enemy had Stasis out with two Sylvan Caryatids, both with Instill Energy (yes board was pretty much locked but still). During his turn, he would use all of his Caraytid taps including Instill energy and end completely tapped out. On his turn, one of his Sylvan Caryatids would untap naturally, pay the Stasis cost, and then he would still have all of his Instill Energy uses left to cast other spells.
TL;DR - one of the Instill Energies was causing its enchanted creature to untap naturally, ignoring Stasis (or perhaps, it was untapping as part of the 'pay Stasis upkeep?' dialog), and he could then use all of his Instill Energies after to play other stuff.
Now this really wasn't the biggest deal in the world as one Instill Energy pays for Stasis infinitely anyway but still.

I can't reproduce this. AI has two tapped Sylvan Caryatid, each enchanted by Instill Energy, a handful of tapped lands, and a Stasis; it always chooses not to pay upkeep.
The caryatids definitely aren't untapping normally; the whole untap phase is skipped if there's a Stasis on the bf.
Maybe something else on the battlefield that you didn't mention influenced it; if, for example, there's something else that activates during its upkeep, it might be activating an Instill in response to it. (The scenario's legal under modern rules anyway: put Stasis' upkeep trigger on the stack, respond by untapping a Caryatid, tap the Caryatid to pay for Stasis.)
